Tonganoxie area students celebrated 100 days of school during the past week. One special presentation involved talking with a 103-year-old resident, something more than 100 students got the opportunity to do.

A Basehor-Linwood teacher pleaded guilty to having sex with a student. The consensual relationship began back in 2008.

U.S. missionaries released from Haiti
Eight of the 10 U.S. missionaries being held in Haiti have been released. The Americans were being held for planning to remove children from the country.

A new bill regarding K2 is currently going through the legislative motions. The bill would make possession of K2 a misdemeanor, complete with possible fine or jail time.
