Hit-and-run victim in serious condition
The Lawrence woman who was struck in Sunday morning's hit-and-run accident is in serious condition as of Wednesday night. The accident occurred in the 2700 block of Lawrence Avenue.

County taxpayers won't pay for construction
Douglas County taxpayers will not pump more than a quarter million dollars into a road construction project in southwest Lawrence. The project will cost an estimated $6.5 million and is slated to begin later this year.

The east side Lawrence Athletic Club closed its doors Wednesday for unknown legal reasons. The owner says the closing was not planned.

Convenience store bus stop back in business
The Conoco convenience store that used to serve as a Greyhound Bus stop is back in business. The owner hopes to begin selling bus tickets within a week.

High school facility projects to be completed
The Lawrence school district will be able to complete all the projects on its list for local high school outdoor facilities. Bids for the projects came in under budget.
