West Junior High garden proving successful
Six sudents at West Junior High School planted a garden this spring. They have maintained it throughout the summer and sold produce at their own farmers' markets. So far, they have raised $1,700. The money goes back into the garden. Next week, produce will be used in the school cafeteria as well.

Japanese students visit animals on local farm
Middle and high school students from Lawrence's sister city visited Midnight Farm south of Eudora. Many of them were seeing horses, ferrets and alpacas for the first time.

Pizzeria reopened after tax problems
