On the eighth anniversary of the attacks of 9/11, University of Kansas students and Lawrence residents gathered to remember those who were lost on that day. People shared their memories and some held a candlelight vigil for the victims of the attacks.

The club off 9th and Iowa streets is being forced to pay $100 each day it continues to operate illegally. The club does not have the necessary licenses and will also pay the city $11,000 in legal fees.
A construction project planned for Kasold Drive is moving ahead slowly. The Kansas Department of Transportation has scheduled the project for no earlier than February of 2011, though the city would like to see that timeline accelerated.
