KU fraternity supports local shelter, charities
The TKE fraternity from Kansas University will spend the next 48 hours living in a cardboard house of sorts to raise money and collect food for the Lawrence Community Shelter and the EKan program. It is the second year the fraternity has participated in the event.

Portable toilets offer a little more on gameday
With KU football fans scrapping for places to park on game days, many find there way into the Oread neighborhood. Along with parking, residents in the area are now renting port-a-potties to offer their customers a little bit more.

No charges filed in KU sports brawl
City prosecutors announced Friday no charges would be filed in the altercation that took place between members of the KU basketball and football teams. The situation is instead being handled by the Kansas Athletics administrators.

No word on charges in fatal hit-and-run
Charges have still not been filed against the man responsible for the hit-and-run death of Rachel Leek. The DA's office is reportedly still waiting on reports.

Person reports being punched in face, robbed on KU campus
A person reported being hit in the face and robbed Thursday night in a KU parking lot. Police arrested one man in connection with the crime and are still searching for another.

70-year-old man wins Kansas Powerball
A 70-year-old man laid claim to the largest Powerball jackpot in state history. The man will begin collecting on the $96 million pre-tax prize in three weeks.

Woodlawn school wins Challenge Awards
Woodlawn Elementary school won three Challenge Awards for excelling on standardized tests. The school has won the awards in the past and attributes the success to the staff.

Kansas River bridge to fall Sunday
One Kansas River bridge will be detonated Sunday at 12:30 p.m. The detonation will be shown before the KU women's basketball game and also during halftime of the same contest.

The Firebirds football season came to an end in the quarterfinals Friday. Free State fell to Olathe North 28-42.
