This morning as I drove on Sixth Street between Wakarusa and K-10, three Lawrence police cars were running a speed trap there. I drive this stretch twice daily, and I see the Lawrence police patrolling at least half the time I'm on it. Why is this necessary? When will the speed limit on West Sixth be raised and to what?

I'm sitting here watching the KU basketball game, and I would like to know the definition of an intentional foul. When is that used? When is it not used? And what does it mean? The NCAA rulebook says that officials call an intentional foul when they believe a player committed a foul without legitimately going after the ball or legitimately trying to defend another player. Severe or excessive contact, which is a flagrant foul, does not determine an intentional foul. Intentional foul examples can include: Making contact with a player who is throwing the ball into play; holding or pushing another player to stop the clock; pushing a player from behind to prevent a basket. The penalty is two free-throw shots for the fouled player, and after the free throws, that team keeps possession of the ball.
