We were at Burcham Park and noticed that the playground equipment there was missing a tube between them and that there was another piece of metal that was loose and seemed to be very dangerous. If and when is this equipment going to be fixed? We think it should be shut down for safety reasons. We pulled our kids off the equipment and took them away because of the danger level.

I read the article about the city preparing to buy 48 acres of wetland near the South Lawrence Trafficway to serve as a buffer for the city sewage holding basin. Who currently owns the land, and is it now being used for anything?

Why are cars allowed to park on the west side of the street after you turn off Ninth Street onto Crestline Drive going south? It's the only block from Ninth Street to 15th Street that allows parking. I think this should be a no parking zone on either side of the street.

This is in regard to the Sept. 7 article about the merry-go-round and jungle gym at Broken Arrow Park. Who determines when equipment is no longer safe for the public? Douglas County taxpayers paid for this equipment and should have the opportunity to bid. Why wasn't this equipment put up for bids instead of being taken to the junk yard?

Why did the school district allow the Census Bureau to use a district structure rent-free for four months when they have a budget for their expenses? The local people have to pay rent and it's the local people using the building.
