Jennifer Pettengill, a customer service representative at Amarr, figures that the company’s decision to add jobs will be good for her and her fellow coworkers. “It’s job security,” she said Monday, leaving work. “We’re expanding and not declining.” Pettengill has worked at Amarr since June.
Derek Watts, a loader at Amarr Garage Doors, is among 670 employees at the plant in the East Hills Business Park, where the company plans to hire as many as 91 more employees through the end of 2008. The new hires will be expected to handle administrative, support and production jobs.
