Boy Scout Troop 61 took a bite out of crime July 12, completing their crime prevention merit badge by visiting the Douglas County Juvenile Detention Center. Merit badge counselor Schulyer Bailey arranged the tour. Corrections officer Andy Wolff guided the tour. Wolff explained the entire process of the system. The Lawrence Alumnae Panhellenic Council held its annual meeting Aug. 20 at the home of Jannie Barron.
