O. Newton King, a pioneer in reviving the art of compounding drugs by community pharmacists, is retiring and selling his King Pharmacy business, 1112 W. Sixth St., to Brad Grant.

Moles damage a lawn visually with soil piles and runs, which can be very evident when a heavy rain causes erosion by washing out their tunnels.
Moles thrive in cool and shady areas. The good news is they're loners, so if you have one, it's probably the sole culprit of your lawn woes.

Artist Robert Green taught painting and drawing at Kansas University from 1946 to 1979, but the highlight of his career came in 1995, when the Smithsonian Institution decided to acquire eight of his works for its American Art Museum collection. Green died Feb. 5 at age 97.
