Former KU great Schnellbacher dies at 84

A native of Sublette, Schnellbacher played football and basketball at KU, earning All-America honors in football in 1947 as a wide receiver. He lettered in football in 1942, '46 and '47, and in basketball in 1943, '46 and '48. He was a captain for both teams during his college career.
Six Jayhawks earn postseason honors from Big 12, five from AP

Brandon Rush, Darrell Arthur, Mario Chalmers, Darnell Jackson, Russell Robinson and Sherron Collins all drew mention from the Big 12 as all-league teams and individual honors were released Monday morning. The AP All-Big 12 teams included four Jayhawks as well, but none were placed on the first team.

A jury in New Haven, Conn., has convicted a former American Navy sailor of leaking details about his own ship’s movements to suspected terrorist supporters. We can only hope that the sternest possible penalties are assessed against Hassan Abu-Jihaad for his treasonous behavior.
