Two armed robberies reported early Thursday morning in city

Two unrelated armed robberies happened within 45 minutes of each other early Thursday morning. Shortly before 3 a.m., a drive-through customer robbed the McDonald’s at 1309 W. Sixth St. The robber ordered food, then pulled up to a store window holding a handgun and covering his face, said Sgt. Mike Pattrick, a Lawrence Police spokesman.

Alterra Sterling House of Lawrence, 3220 Peterson Road, has been purchased by Windsor Senior Services of Wichita. The care home’s name has been changed to The Windsor of Lawrence.

So Douglas County District Judge Michael Malone ordered Neighborhood Resources Director Victor Torres to make an official decision on 6Wak Land Investments LLC’s application within seven days. And he ordered the city to pay 6Wak’s legal costs in the case.
