all i know is ive eaten here twice and i will never order from them again. first time i got lo mein (delivered) and specifically asked for some soy and duck sauce. my order came and there was no sauce... i just sucked it up and figured oh well people make mistakes and ate my dry noodles which woulda been great with some sauce on them.
2nd time we ordered there, we got general tso's and lo mein ... i specificaly asked for sauce again and even said what hapened last time and could you please make sure we get some in the bag. well the delivery came and i asked the driver if there was sauce in there he just said "oh...no. sorry." i called the store and the guy who answered was the same guy who took my order. he just acted like he was "sorry" but didnt want to do anything about it. I said can you please bring some? i didnt want to endure another meal of dry noodles... he said he would. 30 min later i got some sauces.... to be fair they did bring the sauces back but what chinese place doesnt put sauce in the bag with your order??? i thought this was standard and not something i have to beg for. regardless, i dont want to deal with the hassle again... so ill be using King Buffett or peking or whoever else. oh and another thing, the general tsos is nasty!!!!
By FAR the best place I've tanned!!!! The beds give me amazing color, and the prices are fair! It's always clean when I come to tan and the staff is super helpful and knowledgable. People that continue to talk about the owner seem to be very ignorant. No one knows what happened, and the people talking about it have their facts COMPLETLEY wrong! I have met the owner and she is one the nicest and genuine people. Don't choose to refrain from this business just by gossip from other people, it really is the best salon in lawrence! Spend your money in place that is going to give you great tans, and Ultimate Tan is the best place to do that!
I highly recommend this tanning salon. I went for my first time yesterday, the staff is so knowledgeable and helpful. They have a great variety of beds and options to choose from. I have been to many of the other salons in town and this one is the nicest by far. I also like that they offer other services besides tanning.
Bait and switch price gouging. I bought a Groupon for $45.00 worth supposedly $95.00 to steam clean three rooms worth of carpet. My appt. was for 1pm and the guy shows up at 10:00 am when I am not even there and casually says they are running ahead of schedule?? Then he tells me that it will be $35.00 extra to use cleaning solution. They don't normally use cleaning solution? I was baffled. Then he says they don't move any furniture and only measure the exposed areas. Yet somehow he claims that I am 70 sq. ft. over the Groupon. I have a queen size bed in my bedroom and there is only a tiny strip showing around it, then a very small office that has furniture in it and a tiny bedroom with furniture in it. This is not over 270 sq. ft by a long shot. Needless to say I was disappointed that they showed up 3-4 hours early when I am not even there, then say that everything is extra. When it was all said and done I paid $140.00 for the "extras" and $45.00 for the Groupon. $185.00 for a tiny amount of carpet. Never again... deceptive business practices to offer a Groupon and then charge so much extra
Kathy and her crew re-painted our bathroom that had previously been painted using a feather technique that left the walls with raised ridges of paint streaked throughout. They had to use a sander to knock down the old paint before they could ever start the job! Needless to say, I was very impressed with the results. These are good people to work with as they do good work at a fair price. I highly recommend them.
Make sure you check online prices first because they may differ from what the store tells you. You might have to pretty much do their job for them but once you tell them, they change it and make sure you pay attention to the car you get because if it's different from the one reserved, they won't tell you it's smaller & give you a refund unless you notice.
I have fibromyalgia which causes me to have pressure point pain in my joints, especially in my hips, back and shoulders. Two years ago I bought a savvy rest mattress from Diane at Eagles' Rest and, at the risk of sounding overly dramatic, it changed my life...my sleeping life anyway. Until I bought this mattress I rarely slept. I woke up, dozed off, woke up, you know the drill. Now I sleep the entire night through and when I wake up I do not have pain. These mattresses are made of natural latex (from rubber trees, not petroleum) and are customized for each individual. The top of the mattress zips off so the foam latex can be rearranged to your preference. There are three layers that come in soft, medium and firm. You choose the layers you want so yours might be two softs, one firm, three mediums, etc. Diane worked with me until I found exactly the level of softness I needed. I've always liked a fairly firm bed but recently I decided to try making it softer. The latex does not go clear across the bed - it is split like two twins put together. This is so each side can be customized for each sleeper. I sleep alone, so I just opened up my bed and changed the layers around so now one side is really soft and one side is really firm. I was worried that making it softer would affect my back but the latex is so supportive I haven't had a problem. I bought a fluffy wool (no it's not hot, wool is a natural temperature regulator) topper for it which is wonderful. Before getting this mattress I used to dread going to bed. Now I go to bed early to read because I am so comfortable. I am so glad I found Diane & savvy rest!
NEVER TAKE YOUR DOG TO THIS HORRIBLE GROOMER. My wife took both our dogs to Accent pet groomers at 12:30 and it was agreed that they would be done at 5pm that same day. My wife tried to call them several times around 5pm but could not reach anyone. She finally got a hold of the someone around 6pm and they said that our dogs would be complete in about an hour. At 8pm my wife went to pick up our dogs an when she got there both dogs had been bathed but NOT groomed. She told the owner that she wanted our dogs back and she would pay the services completed. The owner told my wife she would NOT give her our dogs until they were groomed. Frustrated, scared and very mad at this point, my wife decided to call the Police. While they waited for the Police the owner had one of our dogs groomed. The Police were not very helpful but we did get our dogs back. We paid FULL price for INCOMPLETE service. This was the only way we could get our dogs back this same day. There is NO WAY I would leave my dog at this place over night or for that matter another 30 minutes. The owner was VERY RUDE to us and if she was this rude to us then I wonder what our dogs went through staying there for 8 hours. I am going to report this groomer to the better business bureau.
Aneita's Alterations has been my go to on all alterations and tuxedo rentals. I've always had great customer service and their prices are incredibly reasonable. I've tried other places but have been disappointed in their craftsmanship. Besides, Aneita's has been around for quite some time and I'm always willing to support the local businesses!

A longtime establishment that keeps getting better and better. Great jukebox. Diverse crowd from blue collar to high rollers, but everyone is nice, from college age to middle age. The bartenders are awesome and fun. A great place for ladies too.
Tried to have lunch here today. Unfortunately it was terrible. The salsa tasted like it was going bad. My waitress didn't seem to care. My pork burrito special wasn't good either. Five bite sized pieces of pork out of two small burritos. Pork was tough to boot.
This place was pretty good and unique when it was new but not now. I gave it a few chances recently and it was just OK. This last time was really bad and will be my last. Second worst meal I have ever been served in a restaurant.
That negative review is shocking and, from my history with Century School, a totally foreign experience! My husband and I have had at least one child at Century for the last 7 years. We have three children, 2 have transitioned very successfully into public school, and one is currently at Century. We love Century and rave about its unique ability to instill a love for learning. They opened my eyes to what is even possible with a child. There are so many great things to say.....like valuing leadership. They do a great job of showing the older children how to mentor, guide and set the example for the younger ones. Often you see the olders take this lead on their own, reminding a younger to ask nicely or helping them when they are stuck. As a parent, I always feel so welcome to be there. I can walk in the classroom, my child can show me what he/she is working on (so proudly), and I am not made to feel out of place or in the way. The teachers are always willing to tell you of progress, what they may be working on or an achievement they made. Reports are given to you of the formal assessments (Woodcock Johnson) taken by your child, which happen at least every 6 months. Another part of the citizenship/friendship aspect that we love is that they cheer one another on. I could go on and on.....from academics to leadership to genuine community..... We have found Century to truly be a different kind of school, perhaps the way school should be. We have found it to work so amazingly for our three children who differ greatly in learning styles and personality.
What a great place! We are so happy with their grooming services!! My dog is well cared for, he even wags his tail as we go in, no fear of the groomer! He looks and smells fantastic when he is done (not "perfume - like", just a great, clean smell). They carry the best brands of food and treats. The entire staff is knowledgeable about different kinds of diets, I know because I have asked a million questions! Excellent customer service! All around, a great place for you and your furry friend!
Bad service, wrong order and really dirty restrooms. Guy at counter acted like he felt like he had better things to do. Lots of loud talking and cutting up in the back, including a rude comment about customers who were in town for the game. Instead of no tomato and extra onions we got extra tomato and no onion on the burger. Fries were overcooked. What is wrong with these people?
Love this store! GREAT produce and friendly staff. So helpful that they will match competitors ads...makes it so I can do all my shopping at one store...and that one store is Checkers!
Shout out to Miss Denise, Miss Betty, and Miss Angela at the check-out who are always so friendly to me and my son (2 yr old). Great customer service by these ladies!
Disappointing pedicure service. Should have just left when I tried to pick out my polish and the lid would not come off one and the other was kind of gummy/stringy. My sis and I went for a girls treat, made our appointments for 4:30pm so we could get home in time for dinner. We were walking out the door at 5:00pm. $26 for about 26 minutes worth of pedicure....what I got was decent (nice polish, good massage) but we were both expecting closer to an hour. Also, my sis got gypped because the girl working on her was also greeting customers at the door and helping them sign in and get assigned to a tech so her pedi was constantly interrupted. We won't be returning.
