Terrebonne Po' Boys and Desserts
I had a transporter bring cars to my dealership today from New Orleans, He asked me where I would suggest he go eat, I sent him to you! And he came back and absolutley Loved it! And he is from the home of Cajun! GOOD JOB! :)
Hush puppies are the best (seriously, I've tried dozens) this side of the Mississippi and the po' boys are pretty amazing - I like the Andouille with spicy slaw and Pepperdoux's hot sauce. Highly recommend Terrebonne!
I had the gumbo and my wife had the phillies cheese steak and both were excellent. Good portion size, well spiced, and the wait was negligible despite the crowd. The gumbo came with a good helping of rice and the best corn fritters north of new orleans. And at under $7 a piece, it's an excellent buy. I'm a local and this place rates up there with Free State and Wheatfields.
I'm in LOVE ntemplin has everything right!!! I'd add, though, the Oyster po-boy!! I will make this a regular all the way. If you haven't tried it, go now... if they're open, but don't wait too long you have no idea what you're missing!!
I can't believe this place has yet to be reviewed.
I've been in Lawrence for the past five years. There have been a number of ups and downs when it comes to getting a quality meal for my dollar. Yet there is one place that I will perpetually crave, and that is Terrebonne. This food is the real deal folks. You won't regret checking out this hidden gem for lunch, and odds are you'll be a loyal customer from that point on.
They have a number of options, but when in doubt, always go for the namesake po-boys. Complete with a special sauce, they have the best catfish po-boy I've ever had. Hands down. Other varieties include alligator, andouille, shrimp, and even your basic ham and cheese. The deserts are homemade, and they are always trying new recipes. I've yet to try something on the menu that isn't phenomenal.
Finally, and most importantly in my opinion, this is a local business run by some great people. Next time you're thinking drive-thru, think about stopping here instead. You won't regret it. Help out your neighbor and your city by frequenting great local eateries like Terrebonne.
