The Seed for Sunshine Acres was planted in the heart of our founder, Susan Mozykowski, by a very special preschool teacher. As she grew, so did her desire to create something as special as the school where she had experienced so much love and where she developed a zest for learning.

Since 1970, Sunshine Acres has been serving Lawrence and the surrounding communities with a quality program and has provided care for more than 4,000 children in Douglas County.
