Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat for Humanity builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses working alongside our homeowner partner families.
Habitat does not just give away homes for free. Homes are sold to families at the cost of materials with a zero-interest mortgage. Homeowners spend hundreds of hours volunteering, make a down payment and have monthly mortgage payments. The homeowners’ monthly mortgage payments are then used to build more Habitat houses.
Lawrence Habitat ReStore sells reusable and surplus building materials to the public, using the proceeds to fund local Habitat house construction. Help save your money, neighborhood, community and the earth shop and donate to the ReStore.
