Lawrence Community Theatre presents A Song on the Wind by local historian and playwright Betty Laird. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Aug. 8 and 9 and 2:30 p.m. Aug. 10.
A fictionalized account of events in Lawrence during the time of Quantrill's raid, the play is at once a love story, the story of the arrival of the first woman professor at KU and the story of the Lawrence windmill.
The show coincides with Civil War events commemorated in August and with the Clinton Lake Historical Museum.
