Dr. Curt King, a member of the Combat Studies Institute Staff Ride Team, discusses the Battle of Westport, Missouri (21-23 October 1864). The battles of Westport were the biggest battles west of the Mississippi during the American Civil War (1861-1864) and the Confederate defeat there ended large-scale military operations in Missouri.
