RECIPE
1 (12 ounce) package macaroni……Aisle 2
4 tablespoons butter……Dairy Cove
1 tablespoon minced onion……Produce
4 tablespoons flour……Aisle 5
1/4 teaspoon salt……Aisle 5
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper……Aisle 5
2 cups milk……Dairy Cove
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese……Deli
1/2 cup dried bread crumbs……Aisle 5
2 tablespoons melted butter…...Dairy Cove

Preparation

In medium sauce pan melt 4 tablespoons butter; add onion sauté for 2 minutes until tender. Stir in flour, salt and pepper; stir until smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat slowly add milk, stirring until well blended. Heat to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil and stir for 1 minute. Remove from heat and add shredded cheddar cheese; stir until blended and cheese is melted. Meanwhile, cook macaroni as directed on package, just to al dente. Drain macaroni. Combine cooked macaroni and cheese sauce. Pour into buttered 13x9 baking dish. Melt 2 tablespoons butter, add 1/2 cup bread crumbs. Sprinkle buttered bread crumbs on top of macaroni and cheese. Bake in 350ºF oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.Yield: 8 servings
