X-WR-CALNAME:Brook Creek Neighborhood Association
X-WR-CALDESC:Welcome to the Brook Creek Neighborhood Association. \n\nThe mission of the BCNA is to stabilize and maintain the neighborhood as a quality\, primarily single-family\, residential neighborhood\, and to preserve\, maintain\, and improve the quality of living conditions in the neighborhood\, identify and respond to its changing needs\, and provide an infrastructure for communication on relevant issues. Our goals are also to increase communication and interaction between residents in all parts of our large neighborhood.\n\nWe have general meetings nine times a year. We meet the second Wednesday of the month every month except for January\, June and August at the East Lawrence Recreation Center (15th and Brook St.) at 7:00 p.m. \n\nAll residents and property owners in the neighborhood are welcome and encouraged to attend the meetings and make their voices heard. \n\nMembership dues are $1.00 per year per person. A newsletter is delivered 3 times per year to each home in the neighborhood. \n\nIt is our hope that this website will allow us to discuss issues of importance to the neighborhood in more detail than the newsletter allows\, as well as allow us to stay in touch with the residents during the off months. \n\nIf you have questions\, please feel free to contact our coordinator at the BCNA e-mail address: BrookCreekNA@gmail.com or 841-4997. We get a lot of unsolicited e-mail at that address\, so please mention the BCNA in the subject line.\n\nHow do you know if you live in the Brook Creek Neighborhood? The boundaries are 11th Street to the North\, the Burroughs Creek Trail (formerly the railroad tracks) to the West\, 19th Street to the South and the city limits to the East. \n\nIn addition to our regular meetings\, we conduct Spring and Fall park cleanups in Brook Creek Park. We also have a potluck each Fall in Brook Creek Park. Please check the Marketplace calendar for more information on upcoming events.\n\nWe are currently working on two neighborhood projects: collecting history and stories from our long time neighbors and developing our Marketplace website. Please let us know if you are interested in sharing your stories and history of the neighborhood or if you have ideas for neighborhood information to post on Marketplace. \n\nStay tuned for updates and more information.
