Katelin Cooper and Douglas Shane
Scott and Terri Cooper announce the engagement of their daughter, Katelin Cooper, all of Garnett, to Douglas Shane, Louisburg.
The future bride is also the granddaughter of Rosalie Burkhead of Lawrence and the late Dean Burkhead. Katelin is a 2007 graduate of Anderson County High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Kansas State University in 2010, and is employed at Kansas State Bank in Manhattan.
The future groom is the son of Scott and Beverly Shane, Louisburg. Douglas is a 2007 graduate of Louisburg High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Kansas State University in 2011. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and a PhD in Pathobiology and Clinical Sciences at
Kansas State University.
The couple plan an October 13, 2012 wedding at Our Lady Of Sorrows Catholic Church in Kansas City.

Leo Jr. and Elaine Leiker, Lawrence, along with Ed and Sara Ortega, Topeka, announce the engagement of their children, Emily Leiker, Lawrence, and Brian Ortega, Topeka.
The future bride is a 2006 graduate of Free State High School. She is currently attending College of Court Reporting and is employed at Commerce Bank.
The future groom is a 2006 graduate of Seaman High School. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in geology from the University of Kansas in December 2010 and is currently employed at GSI Engineering in Wichita, KS, as a geologist.
The couple plan a Jan. 19, 2013, wedding at Corpus Christi Church in Lawrence.

Russell Beach and Jessica Smith
Jessica Smith, Topeka, and Russell Beach, Tonganoxie, announce their engagement along with their parents, Paul Smith and Pamela Smith, both of Topeka, and Jerry and Terri Beach, Tonganoxie.
The future bride is a 2005 graduate of Seaman High School. She graduated from the University of Kansas in 2009 and is a Sales & Customer Service Manager at Antigen Laboratories in Liberty, MO.
The future groom is a 1999 graduate of Tonganoxie High School. He graduated from JATC Electrical Apprenticeship School in 2005 and is a Foreman Electrician at Capital Electric in Kansas City, MO.
The couple plan an Oct. 6, 2012, wedding at First Congregational Church of Tonganoxie.
