Richard and Janice Walthall, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a private reception Sunday at Corpus Christi Church.
Janice Marie Marks and Richard Lee Walthall were married July 28, 1962, at St. Stanislaus Church in Rossville.
Janice is a retired school teacher from the Lawrence School District and Eastern Kansas Cooperative. Richard is owner of Kansas Electric Construction. The couple enjoy spending time with their family.
They have three sons, Barry and wife Bobbie, Brad and wife Valerie, all of Lawrence, and Brian and wife Cami, Columbia, Mo.; a daughter, Bridgett Wagner and husband Andy, Lawrence; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The future bride is the daughter of Delmar and Sandra Henley, Lawrence, and Laura and Jerry Melton, Lansing. She is a 2006 graduate of Lawrence High School and a manager at Culver’s Restaurant.
The future groom is the son of William and Rene’ Morain, Lawrence, and Tami and Dewayne Strutz, Vancouver, Wash. He attended Lawrence High and is a manager at Taco John’s.
The couple plan a Sept. 1, 2012, wedding in Burcham Park in Lawrence.

The future bride is the daughter of Terry Clark, McLouth, and Lori Clark, Lawrence. She is employed at Stepping Stones Childcare in Lawrence.
The future groom is the son of Gary and Susan Frager, Lawrence. He is a store manager at Radio Shack in Lawrence.
The couple plan a May 1, 2013, wedding in Lawrence.

Michael and Mary McCormick announce the engagement of their daughter, Christy McCormick, to Brian Imel, all of Lawrence.
The future bride is a 1999 graduate of Lawrence High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in evolutionary biology and ecology from Kansas University in 2004 and is an environmental scientist for the State of Kansas.
The future groom is the son of Dr. Terry and Marilyn Imel, Goodland. He is a 2002 graduate of Goodland High School. He attended KU and Johnson County Community College and is a maintenance technician at ICL Performance Products.
The couple plan a Dec. 7, 2012, wedding in Lawrence.

Scot and Donna Hoffman announce the engagement of their daughter, Janell Hoffman, all of Lawrence, to Travis Lower, Phillipsburg.
The future bride is a 1999 graduate of Baldwin High School. She attended Johnson County Community College and is employed at Associates in Dentistry in Lawrence.
The future groom is a 2003 graduate of Phillipsburg High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kansas University in 2008 and is employed with Freightquote.com in Lenexa.
The couple plan an Oct. 27, 2012, wedding at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.
Anniversary
McCabria
Bob and Cherry McCabria, Eudora, celebrated their 60th anniversary July 20 with a family party.
Cherry Koch and Bob McCabria were married July 20, 1952, at St. Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church in Eudora.
Both graduated from Eudora High School. Cherry continued her education at Baker University and later Kansas University, where she earned a master’s degree in special education. She taught special education for many years in the Lawrence School District, retiring from Lawrence High School. Bob was a longtime farmer in the Kaw Valley bottoms, retiring from farming in the late 1990’s.
The couple have two sons, Rory, Shawnee Mission, and Russ and wife Cheryl, Riley; a daughter, Robyn Kelso and husband Mike, Eudora; and five grandchildren.
The couple requests no gifts.
