Cecil and Kay Wehr
Cecil and Kay Wehr, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends in June.
Kay Wilder and Cecil Wehr were married on April 28, 1962, at St. Mary’s Parish in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Cecil is now retired after working most of his career as a forklift mechanic out of the Lawrence and Topeka area and in Des Moines, Iowa. Kay has operated an in-home daycare throughout her career. They have been foster parents to over 40 newborns through Catholic Charities.
The couple have three sons, Christopher and wife Sandra, Lee’s Summit, Mo., Chad and wife Esther, Olathe, and Craig wife Ashley, Wellsville; four daughters, Teresa Wehr, Glendale, Ariz., Laura Van Alstine, Lawrence, Marlena Manternach and husband Neil, Monticello, Iowa, and Valarie Rooks and husband Michael, Kailua, Hawaii; 11 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
The couple requests no gifts.
Wedding
Inhulsen and Harvey
Cecilia and Matthew Harvey
Cecilia JoAnn Inhulsen, Montezuma, Ga., and Matthew Glenn Harvey, Warner Robins, Ga., were married Nov. 26, 2011, at Montezuma United Methodist Church with John Moore officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Christopher and JoAnn Inhulsen, Montezuma.
The groom is the son of Gerald and Stephanie Harvey, Lawrence.
Matron of honor was Dr. Jane Maddox. Maid of honor was Harriet Inhulsen. Best man was Jeremiah Harvey. Bridesmaids were Mary Schrock, Jessica Inhulsen, Rachel Johnson and Elizabeth Noler. Groomsmen were Andrew Kelderman, Stephen Schiete, Christopher Inhulsen Jr., James Robertson and Aaron Quinlisk. Flower girls were Anastasia Dillon and Ruth Dillon. Ringbearers were Joshua Carter Maddox and Christopher Inhulsen III. Ushers were David Dillon and Joshua Paul Maddox. Program attendants were Joshua Mihm and Nathan Mihm. Musicians were Sarah Bereza, organ; and Dr. Christopher Inhulsen, Sr., piano. Vocal quartet was Dr. Christopher Inhulsen Sr., Christopher Inhulsen Jr., Dr. Jane Maddox and Harriet Inhulsen.
The bride was home schooled and graduated from Abeka Video Academy in 2003. She attended Pensacola Christian College, earned a doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Georgia in 2010, and is a pharmacist at Eldercare Pharmacy in Hawkinsville, Ga.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Lawrence High School. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs in May 2006 and is a mechanical engineer at the Warner Robins Air Force Base.
The couple reside in Warner Robins.

Allen and Scott
Christy and Taylor Scott
Christy Allen, Lawrence, and Taylor Scott, Wichita, were married Oct. 1, 2011, at Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Lawrence, with the Rev. William Vogler officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Rand and Gail Allen, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Mark and Alison Scott, Wichita.
Maid of honor was Suzy Allen. Best man was Sam Park. Bridesmaids were Katherine Kruger, Kara Smith, Pam Allen and Hannah Scott. Groomsmen were Brett Boyle, Aaron Boehmler, Colin Edwards and Victor Mallin.
A reception was given at Alvamar Country Club.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Lawrence High School, a 2009 graduate of Kansas University, and is employed by The Navigators.
The groom is a 2006 graduate of Wichita North High School, a 2010 graduate of KU, and is also employed by The Navigators.
The couple reside in Lawrence.

Denver Porter and Melissa Sigler
Jeff and Susan Sigler announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Sigler, all of Lawrence, to Denver Porter, Overland Park.
The future bride is a 2001 graduate of Lawrence High School. She is employed at SFI Medical Publishing and is the owner of Melissa Sigler Photography.
The future groom is the son of Scott and Cathy Porter, Overland Park. He is a 2003 graduate of Blue Valley High School, earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Kansas University in 2009, and is employed at State Street in Kansas City, Mo.
The couple plan a Sept. 8, 2012, wedding at First United Methodist Church West Campus.
Engagement
Nieman and Schmidt
Kristopher Schmidt and Hailee Nieman
Mark and Becky Nieman, Nortonville, along with Tom and Debi Schmidt, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their children, Hailee Nieman, Olathe, to Kristopher Schmidt, Kansas City, Mo.
The future bride is a 1999 graduate of Jefferson County North High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education in 2003, and a master’s degree in education in 2009, both from Kansas University. She is a special education teacher for the Kansas City Kansas School District.
The future groom is a 2000 graduate of Free State High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in economics from KU in 2004 and will earn a master’s degree in business administration from Baker University this June. He is a client relations manager at State Street Corporation.
The couple plan a July 28, 2012, wedding at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Nortonville.
