Anne McAlister, Lawrence, and Layne Meyer, St. Louis, were married June 12, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church in Lawrence with the Rev. Kent Winters-Hazelton officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Patricia McAlister, Lawrence, and the late Daniel James McAlister, Jr.
The groom is the son of Ronald and Sandra Meyer, St. Louis.
Best man was Bryan Meyer. Bridesmaids were Christine Krzanowsky and Cara Muths. Groomsmen were Brad Meyer and John Robinson. Ushers were Zakary McAlister Klausner and Brett Conrad. Flower girls were Jani McAlister Harms and Ragan Mauldin. Memorial candlelighters were John Teegarden and Charles Teegarden. Reader was Suzi Teegarden. Bride’s attendant was Krista Hoy. Soloist was Julie McIntyre.
A reception was given at The Oread.
The bride is a 1995 graduate of Lawrence High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Kansas University in 1999 and is an assistant district manager with First Management, Inc.
The groom is a 1996 graduate of Parkway West High School in Ballwin, Mo. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from University of South Alabama and a master’s degree in special education from KU in 2008. He is a teacher at Free State High School.
The couple reside in Lawrence.

Beth Sheely, Lawrence, and Josh Reynolds, Abilene, were married July 2, 2010, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence, with the Rev. Randy Weber officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Tom and Lynn Sheely, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Scott and Donna Reynolds, Abilene.
Maid of honor was Liz Simmons. Best man was Sean Reynolds. Bride’s attendants were Jamie Heller, Val Stephens, Ember Perry and Dan Sheely. Groomsmen were Keagan Martin, Jesse Hale, Brian Green and Steve Janzen. Ushers were Chris Janssen, Oliver Good and Mark Maxwell. Flower girls were Ada and Mikenna Heller. Guest book attendant was Tabitha Wilson.
A reception followed at Maceli’s.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Lawrence High School and attended Kansas State University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Washburn University and is employed by Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of Abilene High School and also attended KSU. He earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Emporia State University and is employed by the Lawrence school district.
The couple reside in Lawrence.

Fred and Alicia Wood, McLouth, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.
Alicia Meyers and Fred Wood were married Oct. 2, 1960, at First Baptist Church in McLouth.
Fred retired from Equitable Life Assurance, and Alicia retired from the Bank of McLouth.

Ann and Roy Bolton
Roy and Ann Bolton, Lawrence, will celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary at a dinner gathering on Sunday with their family at their home.
Ann Fairbanks and Roy Bolton were married Oct. 10, 1935, in Lawrence.
Roy retired from the post office, and Ann is a homemaker.
The couple have two daughters, Julie Nieder and Linda Lawrence; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The future bride is the daughter of John and Betty Horn, Hermitage, Tenn. She graduated from Immaculata High School in Leavenworth and earned a bachelor’s degree in art with a communications concentration from Saint Mary College, Leavenworth. She is the communications coordinator for the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department.
The future groom is the son of Steven Bailey, Parkville, Mo., and the late Lois Anderson. He graduated from Park Hill High School, Kansas City, Mo., and earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a broadcasting minor from Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Mo. He will graduate with a juris doctorate from Washburn University School of Law, Topeka, in May, and is employed by Sloan Law Firm, Topeka.
The couple plan a March 19, 2011, wedding at the Cathedral of the Incarnation, Nashville, Tenn.

Jean and Richard Holzmeister
Jean and Richard Holzmeister, Lawrence, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in July with a trip to Breckenridge, Colo., with their children and grandchildren.
They were married Oct. 9, 1960, at Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka.
The couple attended Washburn University and moved to Lawrence in 1963. Richard worked for Capitol Federal Savings and Loan for 34 years, retiring in 1996.
They have four children, Jeff and Lea Ann Holzmeister, Tempe, Ariz.; Scott and Debbie Holzmeister, Charlotte, N.C.; Jon and Michelle Holzmeister, Overland Park; and Jill and Steve Patton, Lawrence; and 15 grandchildren.

Jody and Rich Woodward, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Wednesday with family members.
The couple were married Oct. 13, 1960, at First United Methodist Church in Cimarron.
Rich attended Dodge City Community College and Kansas University. He has had a career in Yellow Page Publishing for 35 years and currently owns Best Internet Yellow Pages, Inc. Jody has been active in volunteer work and was director of Meals On Wheels for 25 Years.
They have two sons, Richard Jr., Kansas City, Mo., and Greg and wife Sally, Overland Park; and two grandchildren.

Mamie and James “Dave” Crabb, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a card shower from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at Pioneer Ridge Health Care Center in Lawrence.
The couple were married Oct. 15, 1950, in Garden City.
Dave was owner of Dave Crabb Electric, an electrical contracting company in Garden City for more than 30 years.
They have four children, Paul and Linda Crabb, Lawrence; Annette and Larry Cody, Steamboat Springs, Colo.; Arlen and Patricia Crabb, Aberdeen, Md.; and Mary Jo and Michael Bevz, Las Cruces, N.M.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
