Bradley

Mariann and Alden Bradley

Mariann and Alden Bradley, Eudora, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner on Oct. 9 at the family farm. The couple also will spend a week with their children and grandchildren in Branson, Mo.
Mariann Thomas and Alden Bradley were married Oct. 9, 1960, at Trinity on the Hill Methodist Church in Augusta, Ga.
Alden graduated from Lawrence High School in 1955. He retired from Farmland Industries after 36 years. He enjoys his farm and raising Hereford cattle. Mariann graduated from Richmond Academy in Augusta. She was a long distance telephone operator before her marriage. She has been a homemaker and also enjoys farm life.
They have two sons, Alden Jr. and wife Courtnay, Prairie Village, and Allen, Eudora; and a daughter, Debbie Grosdidier and husband Glen, Eudora; and three granddaughters.

Anniversary

Wehner

Nina and Melvin Wehner

Nina and Melvin Wehner, Eudora, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house and reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Holy Family Parish Hall, 820 Birch St., Eudora.
Nina Koci and Melvin Wehner were married Oct. 12, 1950, in Delia.
Melvin is a retired businessman.
They have two sons, Douglas and wife Ginger, and Gregory and wife Beth, all of Lawrence; a daughter, Karen Hull and husband David, Wamego; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The couple requests no gifts.

James and Lisa Bender

Lisa Enns, Lincoln, Neb., and James Bender, Kansas City, Kan., both formerly of Lawrence, were married Sept. 18, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church, in Lincoln, with the Rev. Len Andyshak officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Don and Mary Ann Enns, Lincoln.
The groom is the son of Mark and Heidi Bender, Kansas City, Kan.
Matrons of honor were Mae James and Maralee Bradley. Best man was Robert Bender. Bridesmaids were Renee Klitzke, Abigail Shepard and Naomi Nelson. Groomsmen were Matthew Bender, Billy Price, Adam Millikin and Ash Shadrick.
A reception followed at the church.
The bride is a graduate of Lincoln Northeast High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in music composition from Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa, Ga., and will earn a master’s degree in music therapy from Kansas University in December. While in Lawrence, she taught piano lessons at Hume Music.
The groom is a graduate of Park Hill High School in Kansas City, Mo., and earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo.
The couple reside in Lenexa.

Joseph Meyer and Mollie Winerock Meyer

Mollie Winerock and Joseph Meyer, both of New York City, were married Sept. 4, 2010, in an outdoor wedding at the View in Piermont, N.Y., on the Hudson River. Officiant was Rabbi Renee Edelman.
The bride is the daughter of Susan Elkins and Jack Winerock, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Ronnie and Bruce Meyer, Armonk, N.Y.
Maid of honor was Emily Winerock. Best men were Scott Meyer and Adam Meyer. Bridesmaids were Lauren Morgan, Dara Commorata, Rebecca Schredni, Brooke Zec, Stephanie Waugh, Lauren Gianchetti and Danielle Meyer. Groomsmen were Anthony Galianese, Nicholas Deblasio, Joseph Coscia, Jason Angrisani, John Coppola and Michael Weinstein.
A reception followed indoors at the View.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of Free State High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of Delaware. She also earned a joint degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and is a makeup marketing director at Lancome in New York City.
The groom a 2002 graduate of the University of Delaware and is the vice president of the Renatus Group, a New York real estate investment firm.
The couple reside in New York City.

Kate Harding, Piqua, Ohio, and Brad Pohl, Lawrence, were married June 5, 2010, at Danforth Chapel at Kansas University, with the Rev. Maria Campbell officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Bill and Lee Ann Harding, Piqua.
The groom is the son of Charles and Judy Pohl, Lawrence.
Matron of honor was Sarah Harding Gustin. Best man was Dustin Honeyman. Maid of honor was Marie Keplinger. Bridesmaids were Megan Choate, Alana Weibel, Charlotte Meyer and Carrie Pohl. Groomsmen were Craig Sailor, Jason LaCourse, Lee Cross, Duane Bruce and Jared Thurston. Ringbearers were Sam and Mac Lamkin. Flower girl was Tillie Lamkin. Ushers were Michael Oller and Michael Lemon.
A reception was given at Lawrence Country Club.
The bride earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial design and a Master of Architecture degree, both from KU, and is an architect with Treanor Architects in Lawrence.
The groom earned a bachelor’s degree in cellular biology from KU and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts School of Dental Medicine, and is a dentist in Topeka.
The couple reside in Lawrence.

The bride is the daughter of Don and Susan Cameron, Newton.
The groom is the son of Don Wornkey, Hutchinson, and Yvette Gadberry, Lawrence.
Maid of honor was Aubrey Cameron. Best man was Brandon Robson. Bridesmaids were Amber Cameron and Aunya Cameron. Groomsmen were Cory Janzen and Chris Jaggers. Ushers were Chris Cameron, Brandon Cameron, William Gadberry and Matthew Gadberry. Candlelighters were Jenny Sherrill and Jordan Monson. Flower girls were Allison Dragoo and Alexia Boles. Ringbearer was Jack Gadberry.
A reception followed at the Domestic Arts Building.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Buhler High School. She will earn a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from Kansas University in spring 2011.
The groom is also a 2005 graduate of Buhler High School and is employed at Sears Holdings in Lawrence.
The couple reside in Lawrence.

The future bride is a 2008 graduate of McLouth High School and graduated from B Street Design School of International Hair Styling in the field of esthetics in February.
The future groom is a 2007 graduate of Tonganoxie High School and is employed at Berry Plastics of Lawrence.

Betsy Barfield and Matthew Pool, both of Lawrence, announce their engagement along with their parents, David and Cathy Barfield, Lawrence, and Paul and Teri Pool, Blue Springs, Mo., and Janis F. Pool, Lawrence.
The future bride is a 2007 graduate of Mid-America Nazarene University and substitutes in Lawrence and other local school districts.
The future groom is a 2000 graduate of Free State High School. He is in the U.S. Army Reserve and is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran. He is completing a bachelor’s degree in theater performance at Kansas University and is employed at Signs of Life.
The couple plan an Oct. 10, 2010, wedding at Mustard Seed Church in Lawrence.

Anniversary

Loveland

Chuck and Mary Loveland, Lawrence, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with an afternoon reception hosted by their children and their spouses on Aug. 1 at the South Park Gazebo.
Mary Ladesich and Chuck Loveland were married Sept. 5, 1970, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in Overland Park.
Chuck has been a pediatrician in Lawrence since 1976, following graduation from Kansas University School of Medicine and completion of his residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital. Mary is completing her fifth term on the USD 497 Board of Education and coordinated youth sports programs in Lawrence for nine years.
The couple have a son, Doug and wife Amy, Overland Park; three daughters, Meredith Brown and husband Erik, Cincinnati, Morgan Robertson and husband Casey, Branson, Mo., and Aidan Koster and husband Chris, Great Bend; and eight grandchildren.
