Tonja Rochelle Jackson and Buddy Albert Haynes, both of Oskaloosa, announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of Michael Alan Jackson, Hartford, and Gloria Jean Jackson, Mount Grove, Mo. She graduated from Ottawa High School and earned an associate degree in business from Baker University School of Professional and Graduate Studies. She plans to earn bachelor degrees in management and human resources from Ottawa University in May and is employed at Sauer-Danfoss in Lawrence.
The future groom is the son of William Christopher and Juanita Marie Haynes, Meriden. He graduated from Jefferson West High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in management from Baker’s School of Professional and Graduate Studies.
The couple plan a private June 12, 2010, wedding at their home in Oskaloosa.

Ellen Doherty Cockrell and Kevin Michael Rooney, both of Baton Rouge, La., were married Oct. 10, 2009, in Perdido Key, Fla., with the Rev. Darren McClellan officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Anthony Doherty, Plano, Texas, and the late Ann Myers.
The groom is the son of George and Mary Lou Rooney, Lawrence.
The bride was given away by her son, Rick Cockrell. The bride’s personal attendants were Karen Stanmore and Jill Beaty.
A reception was given at Oyster Bar Restaurant and Marina in Perdido Key.
The bride is a graduate of Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge, La., and earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Louisiana State University. She is the parish administrator for Trinity Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge.
The groom is also a graduate of Broadmoor High School, and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wichita State University. He is employed in retail sales in Baton Rouge.
The couple reside in Baton Rouge.

Kristy Lynne Wempe and Kelvin Bellinger, both of Lawrence, were married Aug. 15, 2009, at First Christian Church, in Lawrence, with the Rev. Randy Beeman officiating.
The bride is the daughter of K.C. and Kari Wempe, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Bill Bellinger and Vicki VanKooten, both of Ottawa.
Maid of honor was Kaylee Wempe. Best man was Steve Buchholz. Bridesmaids were Liberty Hewins, Kaci Love, Jackie Hout, Ashley Bond and Jamie Guenther. Junior bridesmaids and candlelighters were Autumn Bellinger, daughter of the groom, and Holly Swearingen. Flower girl was Hayleigh Wempe. Groomsmen were Kyle Bulmer, Rob Brewer, Luke Wempe, Donnie Bellinger and Kevin Bellinger. Ushers were Bo Wempe and Donnie Ray Bellinger.
Guestbook attendants were Tracy Transmeier and Amy Wempe Douglass. Readers were Tracy Transmeier, Jamie Veeder-Hish and Kelly Smith. Gift attendant was Stephanie Schmitt. Cake cutters were Amanda Wempe Dinger and Julie Love McCurdy. Photographer was Sarah Leonard.
A reception was given at Stony Point Hall in Baldwin City.
The bride is a graduate of Lawrence High School and Kansas State University. She is the health and safety marketing director for the Douglas County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
The groom is a graduate of Central Heights High School and attended Pittsburg State University. He is a corporal for Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The couple reside in Eudora.

The bride is the daughter of Merel and Sharal Newland, Richmond.
The groom is the son of Jim and Lynn Woods, Kansas City, Kan.
Matron of honor was Desiraé Otto. Best man was Andrew Smith. Bridesmaids were Christie Scholler, Maria Swonger, Heather Felts and Melody Newland. Groomsmen were Derek Sparks, Mark Schafman, Patrick Wilson and Ryan Zink. Flower girls were Kelsey Swonger and Grace Newland. Ringbearer was Jerome Hurla. Ushers were Kurt Swonger and Tyler Lynnes.
A reception was given at Steve’s Place in Lawrence.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Wellsville High School and earned an associate degree from Fort Scott Community College in 2005. She is employed with HCA.
The groom is a 2002 graduate of Piper High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Ottawa University in 2008. He is employed with Western Enterprise.
The couple reside in Tonganoxie.

The future groom is a 2001 graduate of Free State High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He is a marketing consultant for the Gosser Group, a health care research company.

The future groom is the son of Hal and Debby Crady, Lawrence. He is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School and earned a civil engineering degree from KU in 2001. He is a professional engineer and principal with Apex Engineers Inc. in Merriam.

The future bride is a 2006 graduate of Rossville High School and plans to earn a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Kansas State University in December 2010.
The future groom is the son of Philip and Nancy Ketter, Lecompton. He is a 2006 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School and plans to earn a bachelor’s degree in biology from KSU in December 2010. He then plans to attend medical school.

The future groom is also the son of the late Ron Larsen. He graduated from Wahoo High School, the University of Nebraska, and the University of Nebraska Medical School. He completed the otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency program at Kansas University Medical Center and is employed in the otolaryngology-head and neck surgery department at KUMC.
