Harold Sr. and Sue Stultz, rural Hillsboro, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 12 at the Hillsboro Senior Center with friends and family from Lawrence, Dodge City, Pratt, Hutchinson, Goessel, Hillsboro, and Lawton, Okla. The event was hosted by their children and grandchildren.
Harold Stultz and Sue Stockwell were married July 12, 1959, at the First Christian Church in Pratt.
They moved to Lawrence in 1973. Harold medically retired from Kansas University in 1997 after 18 years of employment. Sue worked at KU Continuing Education for 29 years, retiring in 2004. Harold and Sue moved from Lawrence to Hillsboro in 2004 to enjoy their retirement.
They have three sons, Bruce and wife Cindy, Lawton, Okla., and Mike and Harold Jr. and wife Jennifer, all of Hillsboro; and eight grandchildren.

Jerry and Judy Hundley will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception, hosted by their children and grandchildren, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 15 in the fellowship hall at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1245 N.H.
Gerald Hundley and Judith Hemphill were married on Aug. 23, 1959, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence.
During their married life, they lived in Manhattan, Colby, Atwood, Holcomb, Garden City, Eudora, and presently in rural Lawrence. While in Garden City, Jerry was an instructor for more than 30 years at Garden City Community College in agricultural mechanization, irrigation technology and alternative energies. He began the industrial motor controls, programmable logic controls, hydraulics and pneumatics, and industrial ammonia refrigeration programs at GCCC. Jerry also worked for Kansas State University teaching agricultural mechanization in Nigeria in 1973.
Judy worked in several offices as an administrative assistant, including Fuller Real Estate, USD 457 and St. Dominic School. The couple were involved with church, 4-H, and Boy Scout activities, and hosted three students from Japan, Colombia and Russia through the American Field Service exchange program. They are now retired.
They have a son, Jay and wife Gretchen, Baldwin City; two daughters, Jody Hundley, Irving, Texas, and Jane Hundley and husband David Eastridge, Lexington, Mass.; and four grandchildren.
The couple requests no gifts.

Harley and Janet Broers, Wellsville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open reception, hosted by their children, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Ottawa Country Club, 1001 E. Logan St.
Harley Broers and Janet Scott were married Aug. 9, 1959, at the First United Methodist Church in Ottawa.
Harley was employed by Braniff Airways and the Federal Aviation Administration until his retirement in 2001. Janet taught in the Shawnee Mission and Blue Valley school districts and later served as principal of Cordley and Sunflower schools in Lawrence. The couple moved to the family farm in Franklin County after retiring.
They have two daughters, Sharilyn Cromer and husband Bruce, Baldwin City, and Andrea Melanson and husband Dennis, Blue Springs, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

The bride is the daughter of Gerald Zephier, Lawrence, and the late Linda Zephier.
The groom is the son of Dave and Sue Bullen, Maple Grove, Minn.
Maid of honor was Kathleen Daney. Best man was Calvin Barnes. Bridesmaid was Terri Johnson. Groomsman was Darwan Demby.
A reception followed at South Park.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Lawrence Alternative High School.
The groom is a landscaper in Lawrence.
The couple reside in Lawrence.

The couple plan an Aug. 14, 2009, wedding at the Draper Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The future groom is the son of Kristina Laster, Largo, Fla., and the late James Edward Laster. He is a 1998 graduate of Overland High School, Aurora, Colo., and earned a bachelor’s degree in aviation technology at The Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2005. He is an aviation product support specialist at Garmin in Olathe.
The couple plan an Oct. 24, 2009, wedding at Stony Point Hall in Baldwin City.
