Brian and Katie Seymour

Katie Willoughby and Brian Seymour, both of Lawrence, were married May 30, 2008, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence, with the Rev. Mick Mulvany officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Barb Willoughby, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Paul Seymour III and Helen Seymour, both of Lawrence.
Maid of honor was Annie Wedman. Best man was Tom Seymour. Bridesmaids were Mary Coyle, Brooke Patton, Amy Seymour, Katie Geist, Courtney Gelvin and Sarah Naughton. Groomsmen were Ryan Patton, Mike Wedman, Jack Dilllon, Joe Sicilian, Pearson Skepnek and Brian Bondurant. Ushers were Tom Willoughby, Sam Willoughby, David Allen and Nick Kurtenbach. Readers were Katie Melcher and Carrie Blatchford.
A reception was given at Abe and Jake's Landing.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Lawrence High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business marketing from Kansas University in 2007. She is an assistant product manager at Hallmark Cards Inc. in Kansas City, Mo.
The groom is a 2003 graduate of LHS. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business finance from KU in 2007. He is an investment research analyst for Prairie Capital Management in Kansas City, Mo.
The couple reside in Kansas City, Mo.

Kimberly Bogner and Ross Smith, both of Perry, were married Sept. 20, 2008, at Perry United Methodist Church with the Rev. Karen Matter officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Jim and Gayla Bogner, Lecompton.
The groom is the son of David Smith, Lecompton, and Patricia Hornberger, Perry.
Matron of honor was Amy McKinsey. Maid of honor was Jennie Harries. Best man was Nick Schafer. Bridesmaids were Jamie Smith, Jill Blosser, Devin Creek and Paula Patterson. Groomsmen were Matt Schafer, Justin Powell, Michael Cox and David Higgins. Flower girl was Chloe LaDuke. Ring bearer was Cameron Harries. Ushers were Brandon Harries, Ryan Blosser, Brandon McKinsey and Travis LaDuke. Candle lighters were Baylee Whitson and Harleigh Robertson. Guest book attendant was Alexis Guinn.
A reception was given at the Perry American Legion.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School and a 2005 graduate of Highland Community College. She is studying for a business administration degree at Emporia State University. She is a senior lab assistant at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
The groom is a 2002 graduate of PLHS and a 2007 graduate of the Missouri Auction School. He is employed with the City of Lawrence and Leo K. Smith Farms. He also owns and operates RS Auction service.
The couple reside in Perry.

The future bride is a 2005 graduate of Lawrence High School. She plans to graduate with a bachelor's degree in community health from Kansas University in May 2009.
The future groom is a 2004 graduate of LHS. He earned a bachelor's degree in human biology from KU in 2008. He is a student at KU's School of Medicine and plans to graduate in May 2012.
The couple plan a June 5, 2009, wedding at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.

Karen Bentley, Washington, D.C., and Joshua Steward, Williamsburg, Va., announce their engagement, along with their parents, Terrence and Mary Bentley, Lawrence, and Kent and Debra Steward, Hays.
The future bride is a 2004 graduate of Lawrence High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Kansas University's honors program in 2007. She is a research analyst at The Polling Co. Inc. in Washington, D.C.
The future groom is a 2001 graduate of Thomas More Prep-Marion. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and political science from KU in 2005. He is a third-year law student at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va.
The couple plan an Aug. 22, 2009, wedding at Corpus Christi Church in Lawrence.

The future bride is a 2001 graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School, Raleigh, N.C. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Boston College in 2005. She is studying for a Master of Science degree in nursing from Connell School of Nursing in Boston.
The future groom is a 2000 graduate of Free State High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Boston College in 2004 and a Master of Science degree in accounting from Kansas University in 2005. He is a certified public accountant for AEW Capital Management in Boston.
The couple plan a January 2009 wedding in Boston.

Anniversary

Butell

Jim and Barbara Butell

Jim and Barbara Butell will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family celebration in Kansas City.
Jim Butell and Barbara Lesch were married on Nov. 15, 1958, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Monsignor George Towle officiating.
Jim farmed and worked at DuPont for 22 years. Barbara worked at Burnett Instruments for 12 years. She is a homemaker.
Their children are Mike and Marti Butell, Lawrence; Greg Butell, Kansas City, Mo., and David and Lorrie Butell, Lawrence.
They have two grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.

Anniversary

Votaw

Everett and Margaret Votaw, Eudora, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary.
The couple were married Nov. 20, 1943 in Lawrence.
They have three children: Marilyn Wilson and husband Larry, Eudora; Alan Votaw and wife Delores, Eudora; and Gloria Kazmaier and husband Jerry, Clinton, Mo.
They have nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
