Taylor and Mailen
Ken and Brenda Taylor, Emporia, along with Gregg and Diane Mailen, Ottawa, announce the engagement of their children, Kelly Taylor, Emporia, and Russell Mailen, Waxahachie, Texas.
The future bride is a graduate of Hartford High School in Hartford. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Kansas University. She is employed with Boston Financial Data Services in Lawrence.
The future groom is a graduate of Palmer High School in Palmer, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from KU. He is employed with Hawker Beechcraft in Wichita.

Carol and Paul Enos, Lawrence, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in their home on July 5. Their event was hosted by their children.
Carol Curt met Paul Enos at Kansas University. They were married on July 5, 1958, in Neodesha, the bride's home town. Paul received a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from Kansas University, a Master of Science degree in geology from Stanford University and a Doctorate of philosophy degree in geology from Yale University. He was employed for six years as a research geologist by Shell Development Company in Coral Gables, Fla., and in Houston, before joining the geology faculty at the State University of New York in Binghamton, N.Y. From 1982 through 2000, he was Haas Distinguished Professor at KU.
Carol received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from KU, a Master of Science of Teaching degree in French from SUNY-Binghamton, and a Masters of Arts degree in English from KU. She taught English in Centralia, Wash., Anderson Creek, N.C., and Binghamton, N.Y. She taught at Lawrence and Free State High Schools until retirement in 1997 and continues active research on Shakespeare's life. The couple has traveled worldwide, largely in conjunction with geologic research. They plan to continue traveling for geology, Shakespeare and grandchildren.
They have four children: Heather Enos and Ross Wohlert, Orange, Conn.; Mischa Enos and Mark Martin, Houston; Kevin Enos, Lawrence; and Curt Enos, Virginia Beach, Va.
They have five grandchildren.
Gary and Ruth Ellis, Perry, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a buffet reception from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. July 19 at the Branded B Ranch, 7418 74th St., 7 miles north of Highway 24 on Jefferson County Road 237 at Newman. The event will be hosted by their children and assisted by their grandchildren.
Gary Ellis and Ruth Willkomm were married July 19, 1958, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Perry, with the Rev. John Quigley officiating.
Gary retired from Goodyear after 41 years. Ruth retired from Perry USD #343 after 27 years.
They have six children: Dr. Theresa King and Jerry Bollig, Perry; Debbie and Danny Bolden, Lawrence; Kimberly and Scott Urie, Scotland; Jay Ellis, Lawrence; Robert Ellis, Olathe; and Joshua and Torrie Ellis, Perry.

She is the state director of communications for March of Dimes, Overland Park.
The groom is a 1999 graduate of Cactus High School, Phoenix. He played football for Phoenix College in Phoenix. He was a football letter winner for KU and he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from KU in 2004. He was an intern for Williams Educational Fund for KU Athletics. He is an assistant director of alumni programs for Kansas Alumni Association.
