The future bride is the daughter of Florence Curtis, Wichita. She is a 1999 graduate of Great Bend High School.
She earned an Associate of Science degree in the physical therapy assistant program from Washburn University in 2007. She earned a certificate of diagnostic medical sonography in vascular ultrasound from Washburn in 2008. She is a certified physical therapist assistant at Brewster Place in Topeka.
The future groom is the son of Dann and Donna Coffman, Lawrence. He is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School. He is a firefighter and paramedic for Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical.
The couple plan an Oct. 27, 2008, wedding in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

The future bride is a graduate of South Haven High School in South Haven. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from Kansas University. She earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Missouri -Kansas City in May. She is employed with JP Morgan Chase, Kansas City, Mo.
The future groom is a graduate of Free State High School. He attended Dartmouth College before earning a political science degree at KU. He is employed with Stephens Insurance in Lawrence.
The couple plan a Sept. 20, 2008, wedding at East Heights United Methodist Church in Wichita.

The future groom is a graduate of Washburn Rural High School, Topeka. He is a senior at KU's School of Business and also plans to graduate in May 2009.

The groom is the son of Ann and John J. McQueeney, Lawrence, and Debra McQueeney, Lawrence.
Maid of honor was Leah Mustian. Best man was John W. McQueeney.
A reception followed at the Stephen F. Austin Intercontinental Hotel.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Westlake High School, Austin. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas, in 2004. She is a math teacher at Shawnee Mission South High School.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of Free State High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business from TCU in 2004. He is an operations manager with K.R. Johnson Inc. in Lenexa.
The couple reside in Fairway.

The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Norma Henley, Lawrence, and Judy and Darrel Justice, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Wayne and Jan Pearson, Wolcott, and Karen Pearson, Battleground, Ind.
Maid of honor was Jama Carter. Best man was Craig Boller. Bridesmaid was Alexis Pearson, daughter of the groom. Ushers were Jay Ramierz and Colin Stauffer.
A reception followed at Steve's Place in Lawrence.
The couple reside in Phoenix.

Margo and Leo Smith
Leo and Margo Smith, Lawrence, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family on Friday.
Margo Pierce and Leo Smith were married Aug. 29, 1948, at Danforth Chapel on the Kansas University campus.
Leo graduated from McLouth High School in 1941. He served as sergeant in the U.S. Army 5th Air Force in the Southwest Pacific Theater during World War II. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from KU in 1950. He worked in purchasing for Hercules in De Soto, and for Callery Chemical Co. in Lawrence. He is a past member of the 1966-69 Planning Commission of the city of Lawrence and of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce. He has been a farmer and stockman for the past 48 years.
Margo graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, Mo., in 1946. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from KU in 1950. She taught at Haskell Indian College and worked as a receptionist and bookkeeper for Dr. Carl Olson and Lawrence Pediatrics. She was a secretary for the Lawrence school district at Riverside and East Heights schools until her retirement in 1994.
They have two children: Bobbi and Neill Reichart, Alma; and David and Ramona Smith, Lawrence.
They have four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren

Tom and Beverly Griffin celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 8.
Tom Griffin and Beverly Kreeger were married Aug. 8, 1958, at the Church of Christ, Independence, Mo.
Tom graduated from Pittsburg State University. He retired from St. Paul Insurance Co. and has been the family service coordinator for 15 years with Lamb-Roberts Funeral Homes in Ottawa, Baldwin City and Overbrook. Beverly was the manager of The Mail Box in Lawrence. She is the marketing director with McDaniel & McDaniel Financial Services in Lawrence. She has been with the company for 15 years.
A trip to Alaska in celebration of their anniversary had to be canceled because of Tom's illness. A family dinner will be today at Paisano's. Honoring the event will be their three sons: John and wife Kathy, Baldwin City; Jeff and wife Dawn, Lawrence; and Mark and wife Marvena, Topeka, along with seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
The couple have lived in the Lawrence and Baldwin City areas for 39 years.

Frieda and Ray Culbertson
Ray and Frieda Culbertson, Lawrence, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Friday.
Ray Culbertson and Frieda Wray were married Aug. 29, 1948, at the First Baptist Church in Lawrence.
The couple met as classmates at Kansas University's School of Business. Ray retired after 42 years with Capitol Federal Savings, where he managed the Lawrence office for 15 years as well as the eastern region of the company. Frieda is a homemaker and has volunteered at Shawnee Mission Medical Center for 34 years.
Their children are Susan Pitcher and husband Bill, Memphis, Tenn.; Ron Culbertson and wife Opal, Ashland; and Jerry Culbertson, Lawrence.
They have four grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, two great-grandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
