Cox

Everett and Helen Louise Cox will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary today with a family dinner.
Everett W. Cox and Helen Louise Rodgers were married on April 11, 1948, in Osawatomie.
Louise was a homemaker and also ran E & L Trailer Rental, which the couple owned for many years. Everett was a tire builder for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. He retired in 1990 after 33 years. They lived in Lawrence from 1957 until 2004.
They have three children: Everett L. Cox and P.J., Garnett; Steven Cox, Ottawa; and Tina and Robert Guzik, Drums, Pa.
They have four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The couple reside in Ottawa.
They request no gifts.

Engagement

King and Brown

Bruce and Sue Brown, Baldwin City, announce the engagement of their daughter, Melinda Brown, to Joseph King, son of Debbie King, Baldwin City, and James King.
The bride-to-be is a 2006 graduate of Baldwin High School. She is pursuing a nursing degree at Neosho County Community College in Ottawa. She is employed by Vintage Park at Baldwin City as a CMA.
The future groom is a 2004 graduate of BHS. He attends NCCC in Ottawa and is employed by Lawrence Memorial Hospital as an Endotech.
The couple plan an Aug. 23, 2008, wedding at Worden United Methodist Church west of Baldwin City.

Perry

Lori Diane Rosche and Charles August Perry were married Dec. 8, 2007, at the Osborne Chapel in Baldwin City, with Pastor Dale Lewis officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Dick and Ginger Champagne, Belton, Mo. The groom is the son of Ruth H. Perry, Baldwin City.
Maid of honor was Annabelle Rosche, daughter of the bride. Best man was Bob Hart. Candle lighters were Lillian Rohs and Raeleigh Heck, granddaughters of the groom. Flower girls were Kenna Rosche and Kayla Rosche, nieces of the bride. Ring bearer was Jacob Thompson, and the ushers were Tyler Thompson and Ben Thompson, all nephews of the bride.
The bride is employed at Kennedy Glass, and the groom performs research for the U.S. Geological Survey. The family resides in rural Douglas County.

Anniversary

Swinson

Lawrence F. (Larry) and Barbara Swinson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on April 20 at Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Lawrence. Friends are invited.
Larry Swinson and Barbara Johnson were married in Cunningham on Feb. 2, 1958. Both are graduates of Kansas University. They lived in Pratt during the first years of their marriage, and they owned an auto dealership there. In 1984, they moved to Lawrence, where Larry has been employed in investments.
They have been active members of Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Larry has been involved in the civic and business communities of Lawrence.
They have two children: Tim and Beth Ann Swinson, Chicago; and Cinda and Ken Green, Natchitoches, La.
They have four grandchildren.

Ozenbaugh and Harvey

Pete and Susan Cobb announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Harvey, to Jason Ozenbaugh, all of Lawrence. Jason is the son of Janet Seastrom, Topeka.
The future bride is a 2004 graduate of Shawnee Heights High School. She plans to receive a bachelor's degree in accounting from Kansas University in May 2008. She is employed as a student assistant at KU Small Business Development Center.
The future groom attended Santa Fe Trail High School in Carbondale. He is a truck driver for Diamond Everley Roofing.
The couple plan a May 31, 2008, wedding at Danforth Chapel at KU.

Doug and Carolyn Heacock announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Heacock, all of Lawrence, to Joe Faulk, Eudora. Joe is the son of Chris Faulk, Rockport, Texas, and Kim Faulk, Topeka.
The future bride is a 2005 graduate of Free State High School. She is a student at Greenville College in Illinois and plans to graduate in 2009 with a degree in music education.
The future groom is a 2005 graduate of Eudora High School. He is a student at Johnson County Community College and is employed at Printing Solutions.
The couple plan a Dec. 20, 2008, wedding at Lawrence Free Methodist Church.

Ken Newell, Oskaloosa, and Susan Newell, Meriden, announce the engagement of their daughter, Shelby Lynn Newell, to Jesse Allen Houk, both of Oskaloosa. Jesse is the son of Irene Houk, Oskaloosa, and the late Allen Houk.
The bride-to-be is a 2005 graduate of Oskaloosa High School and a 2007 graduate of B-Street Design, Topeka.
The future groom is a 2002 graduate of Oskaloosa High School and a 2003 graduate of the short course dairy herdsman program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a co-owner and operator of the CAJ Dairy in Oskaloosa.
The couple plan a June 7, 2008, wedding at United Methodist Church, Oskaloosa.

Maynard and Marilyn Stevens, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Stevens, to Justin Ranney, both of Manhattan. Justin is the son of Gwen Whittmer, Downing, Wis., and the late Thomas Ranney.
The bride-to-be is a pre-veterinary student at Kansas State University. She is the granddaughter of Russell and Margaret Lawrenson, Mondamin, Iowa, and Leroy and Virginia Stevens, Soldier, Iowa.
The future groom is stationed at Fort Riley in the Warrior Transition Unit. He is the grandson of Orville Whittmer, Downing, Wis.
The couple have not set a wedding date.

John Schmidt and Angela Gonzales announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Lauren Gonzales, to Elijah Joseph Fell, all of Lawrence. Elijah is the son of Christopher and Mary Fell, Lawrence.
The bride-to-be is a 2005 Lawrence High School graduate. She plans to graduate in spring 2009 from Kansas University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history.
The future groom is a 2004 Lawrence High School graduate. He is a student at Johnson County Community College. He is preparing to serve his second tour in Iraq. Upon his return, he plans to continue his studies at KU.
The couple plan a 2010 spring wedding in Lawrence.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Sara Feeney-Meyer and Bruce Meyer, Wichita, and the late Dennis Feeney. She is a 2002 graduate of Bishop Carroll Catholic High School and a 2007 graduate of Wichita State University. She is employed at Senior Aerospace Composites.
The future groom is a 2002 graduate of Free State High School and is a student at Butler County Community College. He is employed at Plumbing Specialists Inc.
