Jenny graduated in 1997 from Cascia Hall High School in Tulsa. She received a degree in journalism from KU in 2001. She is employed by CBS radio in Dallas.
Mitch is a 1994 graduate of Lawrence High School. He received a degree in sports management from KU in 1998. He is employed as a scout for the Dallas Cowboys.

Bill and Joanne Edman, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 1 at the South Park Recreation Center.
They were married Sept. 1, 1957, at the First Baptist Church in Horton.
Hosting the event will be their children Von and Bev Edman, and Don and Linda Edman, all of Lawrence, and Diane and Marty Corson, Stuart, Fla.
They have six grandchildren.

Alvah John and Verna B. Pletcher, Lecompton, will celebrate their 40th anniversary with a trip to Branson, Mo.
They were married Aug. 26, 1967, at the United Methodist Church in Stull.
John worked at The Topeka Capital-Journal newspaper for 20 years. Verna was a homemaker.
Their son, Harold, served in the U.S. Air Force in Seoul, South Korea, and retired in 2005.
He continues to live in Seoul and is employed by the National Security Agency.
Arnold and Nancy Leek, Ozawkie, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception hosted by their family from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at 519 Ninth St. in Baldwin City.
Arnold F. Leek and Nancy Carol Greer were married Aug. 28, 1957, at the United Methodist Church in Eudora, with the Rev. George M. Boicourt officiating.
Arnold was employed at Tension Envelope in Kansas City, Mo., and Nancy worked at Kansas University.
Their children are James and Sabre Leek, Merrimack, N.H.; Gordon and Carol Leek, Cabot, Ark.; and Laura Leek, Topeka. They have 10 grandchildren.

Clyde and Louise Woods, Lawrence, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 9 at First United Methodist Church in Lawrence.
They were married Sept. 4, 1942, in Kansas City, Kan.
Clyde and Louise were high school sweethearts. Clyde graduated from Kansas State University and worked as a civil engineer for the Kansas Department of Transportation. He retired in 1984 after 38 years of service.
Louise worked for three years for KLWN radio in Lawrence and is a homemaker.
Their daughter is Nancy Larsen, Lawrence. They have two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Larrie and Brilla Scott, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday with a family luncheon and reception at the Kanwaka Township Hall. Their son, Eric, and his wife, Diane, will host the event along with their four grandchildren.
Charles "Larrie" Scott and Brilla Ann Highfill were married Aug. 23, 1957, at the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield. Brilla graduated from Winfield High School, and Larrie graduated from Caldwell High School. Both are graduates of Southwestern College and Pittsburg State University.
The Scotts began their teaching careers at Winfield High School and moved to Lawrence in 1966. Larrie taught basic auto mechanics and coordinated the driver education program at Lawrence High School for 32 years. He now works part time as the courtesy van driver for Dale Willey Automotive in Lawrence.
Brilla taught business classes at West Junior High School and Lawrence High. She also was assistant principal and later principal at West. In 2003, Brilla retired as the state executive director for United School Administrators of Kansas.
Wiles and Nowak
