Chad Rutledge and Molly Pulliam
Daniel Pulliam, Valley Falls, and Kimberly Busch, Richmond, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Molly Catherine Pulliam, to Chad Alan Rutledge, son of Robert Rutledge, Dallas, and Nancy Robbins, Tulsa, Okla.
The bride-to-be graduated from Richmond High School, Richmond, Mo. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech language pathology in 2002 from Kansas University, where she earned a Master of Arts degree in speech language pathology in 2004. She is employed by the Hawaii Department of Education as a speech-language pathologist.
The future groom graduated from Cascia Hall Preparatory School in Tulsa, Okla. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies in 2002 from KU. He is employed by Blueprint Audio Visual of Honolulu, Hawaii, specializing in residential custom design of lighting control, house audio, home theater and automation systems.
The couple plan an Aug. 6, 2006, wedding in Kaneohe, Hawaii.

The bride-to-be is a 1999 graduate of Truman High School, Independence, Mo. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication disorders from Truman State University, Kirksville, Mo., and Bachelor of Arts degrees in French and education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She is employed at Raytown South High School.
The future groom is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is employed at Grandview High School.
The couple plan a July wedding in Independence, Mo.

Maureen Devitt and Michael Schwartz
Gary and Myrna Schwartz, Springdale, Ark., and formerly of Lawrence, announce the engagement of their son, Michael Kurtis Schwartz, to Maureen Frances Devitt, daughter of Tina Robinson, Overland Park, and Jim Devitt, Houston.
The bride-to-be earned her undergraduate degree from Kansas State University and graduate degree from Wichita State University. She is a senior project manager at Commerce Bank in downtown Kansas City.
The future groom is the grandson of Janice Schwartz and Helen Patton, both of Wessington Springs, S.D. He earned his undergraduate degree from Kansas University. Michael is the business development director for Swift Construction in Kansas City.
The couple plan a June 10 wedding in Amelia Island, Fla., and a honeymoon trip to Aruba.

Richard and Kathy Napientek, Waterloo, Iowa, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Napientek, to Logan Johnson, son of Terry and Suzanne Johnson, Lawrence.
The bride-to-be is a 2000 graduate of Wahlert High School, Dubuque, Iowa. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with distinction and honors from Kansas University in 2004. She did graduate work and psychology research from 2004-06.
The future groom is a graduate of Hillside Christian High School in Lawrence. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering with highest distinction on Sunday from KU. He will begin working as a mechanical engineer in the fall for Occidental Oil and Gas Co. in Bakersfield, Calif.
The couple plan a July 15, 2006, wedding in Lawrence.

Sarah Davis, Eudora, and Josue Koelzer, Shawnee, were married Feb. 4, 2006, at Clinton Parkway Assembly of God in Lawrence with the Rev. Rick Burwick officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Cathy Davis, Eudora. The groom is the son of Martin Koelzer, Liberty, Mo., and Karen Horseman, Shawnee.
Matron of honor was Tanya Hardwick. Best man was Aaron Koelzer. Bridesmaids were Jessica Evinger and Elizabeth Rowland. Groomsmen were Tyler Horseman and Justin Bunch. Ushers were Joshua Davis and Ben Davis.
A reception was given at the church following the ceremony.
The couple live in Shawnee.

Peggy and J. Warren Robinson
Chaplain J. Warren Robinson, formerly of Lawrence, and Peggy Sandusky, Ottawa, were married May 20, 2006, in San Rafael, Calif., with David Robinson, son of the groom, officiating.
The couple reside in Williamsburg, where he is executive director of His Way Ministries, which operates Buffalo Ridge Retreat Center, a ministry to pastors and their families.
A reception for friends and family will be given from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. June 11 at Buffalo Ridge.

Janelle and Warren Coons
Warren and Janelle Coons, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner June 10 at the Hereford House.
Warren Coons and Janelle Howell were married May 25, 1946, in Denton, Texas. They made their home in Glastonbury, Conn., for 42 years where Warren was a manufacturing engineer. He was a pilot in the Air Force during World War II. They moved to Florida in 1988 and to Lawrence in 2004.
Their children are Philip and Deborah Coons, Hebron, Conn.; John and Susan Wade, Lawrence; and Robert and Sherri Coons, Louisville, Ky. They also have seven grandchildren.

Carolyn and Frederick Madaus
Frederick and Carolyn Madaus, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception for friends and family from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 3 at Old Prairie Town in Historic Ward-Meade Park in Topeka.
Frederick C. Madaus and Carolyn Swartz were married June 3, 1956, in the 1880s Everest Methodist Church, which was moved to Ward-Meade Park in 1991.
Carolyn taught 20 years at Lawrence High School, retiring in 1997.
Fred retired in 1997 after 23 years as placement director in the School of Business at Kansas University.
Their children are Pamela Madaus and Will McLean, Manhattan; Marcia and Dan Davis, Beloit; Lori Madaus, Lawrence; and Christopher Madaus, Lawrence. They have one grandchild and two stepgrandchildren.
The couple request no gifts.

James and Jane Barnes
James and Jane Barnes, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception for friends and family from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. June 3 at Union Pacific Depot in Lawrence.
James Barnes and Jane Frye were married June 1, 1956, in Lawrence.
James retired from DuPont/Flexel after 30 years of service. James also worked for the Lawrence School Board, railroad and served in the military. He is a member of the St. James Church in North Lawrence and is a Lawrence High School graduate. James is an active member of the Western Lodge No. 1 F. & A.M.
Jane retired from Kappa Kappa Gamma after 30 years of service. She also worked for Chet Johnson Furniture and several private families in Lawrence. Jane is a member of the Ninth Street Baptist Church and is a Liberty Memorial High School graduate.
Hosts of the reception will be their children: Marla Ray, Topeka, and Calvin Barnes, Mark Barnes, Ursula Minor, Carmela Humphrey, Barry Barnes and Gayla Barnes, all of Lawrence.
They have eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The couple request no gifts.
