Treat

Marcia and Jimmie Treat

The Rev. Jimmie and Marcia Treat, Baldwin, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 27 at The BullFrog Grill in Tonganoxie. Friends and family are invited.

They were married Aug. 25, 1956, at First Baptist Church in Russell.

Jimmie was a pastor at churches in Philadelphia; Anadarko, Okla.; Horton and Hays; Rapid City, S.D.; and Murphysboro, Ill., before retiring to Baldwin in 1994. Since retirement, he has served as interim pastor for nine churches and is serving Tauy Baptist Church in Franklin County.

Marcia is an educator and taught in South Dakota, Illinois and Kansas before retiring in 2001.

Their children are James Treat, Urbana, Ill.; John and Mirela, Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina; Julia Stiefel, Lake Ariel, Pa.; and Jeremy and Debbie, Tonganoxie. They have two grandsons.

The couple request no gifts.

Earl and Marie Bahnmaier

Marie and Earl Bahnmaier, Lecompton, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Lawrence Holidome. Friends and family are invited.

Earl Bahnmaier and Marie Harwood were married Aug. 26, 1956, in the home of Marie's parents, Frank and Helen Harwood, McLouth.

Marie graduated from McLouth High School and attended Clark's Business School in Topeka. She has been a homemaker and volunteer. She also has worked part-time.

Earl graduated from Liberty Memorial High School and attended Kansas University. He was an engineer in the oil industry for 24 years and was employed by the Kansas Geological Survey for two years.

Marie and Earl are finishing their careers on the farm in Lecompton.

Their children are William and Terry Bahnmaier, Lenexa, and Becky Bahnmaier, Perry, and the late Don Bahnmaier. They also have four grandchildren.

The couple request no gifts.

Leah and James Lawrence, Perry, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 7 p.m. to midnight Aug. 26 at American Legion Post 142 in Perry. Friends and family are invited to the event.

Leah Watson and James Lawrence were married Aug. 26, 1956, in Rock Creek.

Leah graduated from Valley Falls High School. James graduated from Perry High School. Both retired from the Perry-Lecompton School District.

Their children are Jerry Lawrence, Grantville; Lesa Cyr, Topeka; Gary Lawrence, Perry; Eric Lawrence, Perry; and Lorna Schweda, Perry. They have 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The couple request no gifts.

Jim and Cathy Starcher, Tonganoxie, announce the engagement of their daughter, Nicole Lynn Starcher, to Shane E. Hall, son of Tom and Julie Hall, Oskaloosa.

The bride-to-be is a 1996 graduate of Tonganoxie High School. She is employed by UPS-Expedite as a lead agent of Internet accounts. She is the granddaughter of Mary Starcher, Tonganoxie.

The future groom is a 1996 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. He is employed by Cosentino's Enterprize Inc. as an assistant meat market manager. He is the grandson of Donald and Jenni Daughtery, Oskaloosa.

The couple plan a Sept. 30 wedding at their family home.

Tasha Johnson and Correy Harris, both of Lawrence, announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of James and Linda Sanders, Tonganoxie, and Billy and Debby Johnson, Kansas City, Kan. She is a 2000 graduate of Tonganoxie High School. She attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo., and graduated in 2004 from Columbia College in Columbia, Mo.

The future groom is the son of Willie and Brenda Harris, Kansas City, Kan. He is a 1997 graduate of Schlagle High School and a 2003 graduate of Kansas University.

The couple plan a Sept. 9, 2006, wedding at Trinity Methodist Church in Kansas City, Kan.

Keri Walthall and Jeremy Prichard were married June 17, 2006, in Lawrence with the Rev. John Schmeidler officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Jeanne Ann Walthall, Odessa, Texas, and Ray Walthall, Katy, Texas. The groom is the son of Alesia Prichard and Larry Prichard, both of Wichita.

Maid of honor was Kristi Walthall. Best man was Adam Prichard. Bridesmaids were Virginia Gillespy and Betty Martinez. Groomsmen were Jason Brizuela and Kyle Berens. Readers were Paul Wagner and John Carroll. Brady Matthews was ring bearer. Brooklyn Matthews was flower girl. Natalie Kitchell was honorary flower girl. Ushers were John Carroll, Fred Kitchell and Mitchell Wagner. Hostesses were Margaret Sayger, Jolyn Sena, Katherine Wagner and Ariane Kitchell.

A reception was given at the Kansas Union ballroom.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Permian High School in Odessa, Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 2003 from Baylor University and an educational specialist in school psychology from Kansas University in 2005. She is a school psychologist in the Lawrence school district.

The groom is a 1998 graduate of Wichita South High School. He was on active duty in the U.S. Army from 1998 to 2002 and in the Army Reserves from 2002 to 2006. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history in 2006 from KU. He is a graduate student in history at KU.
The couple reside in Lawrence.

Anne Dennehy and Ken Miller were married June 17, 2006, at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Lawrence with the Rev. Darrel Proffitt officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Timothy and Mary Dennehy, Tulsa, Okla. The groom is the son of Ken Miller, Huntington Station, N.Y., and the late Marie Miller.

Matrons of honor were Susan Conrad and Sara Delgado. Best man was Ken Miller. Bridesmaid was Michelle Miller. Junior bridesmaid was Emily Conrad. Groomsmen were Luke Dennehy and Andy Canning. Ring bearer was Grace Miller. Flower girl was Katie Conrad. Ushers were Jorge Delgado and Kyle Conrad.

A reception was given at Maceli's in Lawrence.

The bride is a graduate of Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, Okla. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Kansas University and a bachelor's degree in nursing from Rockhurst University. She is employed as a registered nurse and case manager at Kansas City Hospice.

The groom is a graduate of Walt Whitman High School in Huntington Station, N.Y. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Indiana University and a master's degree in communications from the University of Washington. He is a project liaison for the city of Lansing.

Sarah Carlson and Jay Dobbins were married Sept. 17, 2005, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence with the Rev. Michael Mulvaney officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Michele Carlson, Lawrence. The groom is the son of John and Carol Dobbins, Lawrence.

Maid of honor was Jaime Carlson. Best man was Eric Dobbins. Bridesmaids were Tatiana Craig, Meghan Ewing, Melissa Goodman and Melissa Pepper. Groomsmen were Ryan Bailey, Britt Bieri, Scott Breithaupt and Lenny Lee.
Ushers were Eric Carlson, John Gravino, Jason Gyles and Ben Sosinski. Lectors were Sherri Millsap and Erin Pater. Flower girl was Kennedy Hamilton. Guest book attendants were Malia Carlson and Kelley Hamilton.

The bride and groom are graduates of Lawrence High School and Kansas University. Sarah is a Realtor with Coldwell Banker. Jay is a snowboard instructor at the Big Mountain Ski Resort and an independent contractor for an environmental company.

The bride is the daughter of Dennis and Kathryn Stebbins, Overbrook. The groom is the son of Michael and Kathie Worley, Lawrence.

Maid of honor was Holly Stebbins. Best man was Justin Stebbins. Bridesmaids were Jessi Wagner, Brenna Stebbins and Candace Stebbins. Groomsmen were Andrew Worley, Matt Palmateer and Brad Labonte. The bride attended Lawrence High School and received her general educational development degree in December 1999. She received an associate's degree in 2003 from Allen County Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in social science in 2005 from Emporia State University. She works for the Perry-Lecompton and Lawrence school districts.

The groom is a 1998 graduate of Lawrence High School. He works for Hamm Cos.

The bride-to-be is a 2005 graduate of Free State High School. She is employed as a certified nurse's assistant at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.

The future groom is a 2003 graduate of Free State High School. He is on active duty in the U.S. Army and is stationed in Oahu, Hawaii.
