The future bride attended Lawrence Public Schools. She graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology and Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and is employed by Cargill.
The future groom is the son of Richard and Marjorie Jelken, Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Navy, attended Iowa University and is also employed by Cargill.
The couple plan a Dec. 31, 2010, wedding at The Loretto in Kansas City, Mo.

Bill and LaVerna Gray, Mount Pleasant, Iowa, along with Roy and Jane Lashbrook, Bonner Springs, announce the engagement of their children, Kelsey Lee Gray and Lee Scott Lashbrook, both of Lawrence.
The future bride is a 2002 graduate of Baldwin High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Baker University in 2006. She is a registered nurse at the offices of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine in Lawrence.
The future groom is a 2002 graduate of Basehor-Linwood High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology/criminology from Kansas State University in 2006. He is a paraeducator for the Lawrence public schools.
The couple plan a May 28, 2010, wedding at Stony Point Hall in Baldwin City.

The future bride is a 2005 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School, and a 2009 graduate of Washburn University. She is a registered nurse at Stormont-Vail Healthcare in Topeka.
The future groom is the son of Donald and Susan Birney, Winfield. He is a 2003 graduate of Winfield High School, and a 2009 graduate of Emporia State University. He is employed by Farmer’s Insurance in Olathe.
The couple plan a June 26, 2010, wedding at Washburn University’s Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center.

The future bride is the daughter of Rodney and Terri Lynn Evinger, Eudora. She graduated from Eudora High School in 2000 and also from Kansas University. She is employed by the Lawrence public schools and will begin nursing school in the spring of 2011.
The future groom is the son of Bill Hachmeister and Sheila Awtrey-Hachmeister, Topeka. He graduated from Great Bend High School in 1998 and also from Washburn University. He is a police officer for the City of Lawrence.
The couple plan an Oct. 2, 2010, wedding at Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church in Topeka.

The future bride is the daughter of Chuck and Susan Thomas, Lawrence. She is a graduate of Lawrence High School, attended the University of Central Missouri, and is working at Mary Margaret’s in Lee’s Summit.
The future groom is the son of Mike and Mary Shockley, Lee’s Summit. He is a graduate of Lee’s Summit High School and will earn a bachelor’s degree from University of Central Missouri in May. He then plans to attend graduate school.
The couple plan a May 22, 2010, wedding at Youthfront Camp South in LaCygne.

She is working toward a master’s degree in nursing at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. She is a registered nurse in the cardiac care unit at Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs.
The future groom is the son of Victoria Higgins, Sebastopol, Calif., and the late Dana Higgins. He is a graduate of El Molino High School and the owner of Accu-Pro Coatings, a painting and coating business, in Colorado Springs.
The couple plan a spring 2011 wedding in Colorado Springs.
