Molly Wendorff and Brendan Scarffe, both of Lenexa, were married June 11, 2005, at Hope Lutheran Church in Shawnee with the Rev. Thomas Harries officiating.

The bride is the daughter of John and Elizabeth Wendorff, Shawnee. The groom is the son of John and Jane Scarffe, Lawrence.

Maid of honor was Joy Noakes. Best man was Kendall Scarffe. Bridesmaids were Rachel Stewart, Hannah Petr, Julia Pilant, Amanda Grubbs and Corie Alsin. Groomsmen were Paul Kopecky, Jared Isaacs, Danny Kemp, Daine Meinen and Jake Isaacs.

Junior bridesmaid was Betsy Wendorff. Flower girl was Aubri Hoffman. Candle lighters were Allison Wendorff and Sarah McDonald. Ushers were Andrew Wendorff, Brian Polcar, Jim Hopper and Chris Dixon.

A reception was given at Hope Lutheran Church Family Life Center.

The bride is a Shawnee Mission Northwest High School graduate. She is a junior at Kansas University. She is employed with The Personal Marketing Co. in Lenexa.

The groom is a Lawrence High School graduate. He attended KU. He is employed with Sharper Image in Kansas City, Mo.

The couple reside in Lenexa.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Maria Butler, Lawrence. She is a 2001 graduate of Lawrence High School. She is employed by Barnes and Noble, Altamonte Springs, Fla.

The future groom is the son of Lorenzo Garcia Sr., Manhattan, and Valerie Suddock, Topeka. He is a 2001 graduate of Manhattan High School. He graduated from Full Sail Film School in Winter Park, Fla. He is employed by AMC Theatres in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

The couple plan an October wedding in Lawrence.

The bride is the daughter of David and Karla Grosdidier, Eudora. The groom is the son of Don and Linda Meyers, Eudora, and Leland Koehn, Cimarron.

Maid of honor was Kristin Grosdidier. Bridesmaids were Jill Woodward, Elizabeth Rowland and Andrea Ahrens. Kassie Meyers was junior bridesmaid. Best man was Brent Grosdidier. Groomsmen were Brandon Grosdidier and Matt Harmon. Flower girl was Maria Martin. Ring bearers were Nathaniel Grosdidier and Daniel Grosdidier.

A reception was given at Steve's Place in Lawrence.

The bride graduated from Eudora High School. She received an associate of applied science degree in biotechnology from Johnson County Community College. She is a lab technician at Johnson County Community College.

The groom graduated from Eudora High School and from DeVry University. He is a senior major account representative at LabOne and an intelligence specialist with the U.S. Marine Corps.

The couple reside in Eudora.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and N. Maxine Patterson, Lawrence. The groom is the son of the late Merl and Evalena Self, Osawatomie.

Maid of honor was Jillian Abel, daughter of the bride. Best man was Matthew Self, son of the groom. Matron of honor was Cynthia Andrews, daughter of the groom. Groomsman was James Self Jr., son of the groom.

Scripture reader was Joshua Abel. Ushers were Gustin Andrews, Joshua Abel, Kevin Abel and Kenton Abel.

Linda Love was program attendant. Guest book attendant was Melinda Calhoun. Scott Wisdom was in charge of floral arrangements. Cathy Hillard was wedding coordinator.

The bride is a Lawrence High School graduate. She attended Kansas University. She is a receptionist for Clinton Parkway Animal Hospital.

The groom is a graduate of Osawatomie High School. He attended Kansas State University, KU and Johnson County Community College. He is a national account manager for Farmchem Corp.

Jennifer Glas and Andrew Humburg, both of Lawrence, announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Fredrick and Carma Glas, Lawrence. She is a Lawrence High School graduate. She received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Kansas State University and a master's degree in education from Baker University. She teaches in the Lawrence Public Schools.

The future groom is the son of Gene and Ursula Humburg, Lawrence. He is a Lawrence High School graduate and a computer consultant.

The couple plan a summer wedding.

Anniversary

Evelyn and Herman Hallberg

Herman and Evelyn Hallberg, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary today with a family picnic at Dad Perry Park in Lawrence.

They were married July 18, 1945, in Indianapolis.

They met on a blind date and were married after Herman returned from military service during World War II. Herman was a prisoner of war in Germany. He worked in the motion picture industry in Indiana, Nebraska and Colorado. Evelyn was a homemaker.

Their children are John and Dianna Hallberg, Jacksonville, Fla.; Jim and Jenny Hallberg, Viroqua, Wis.; Annette and Chris Cook, Baldwin; and Howard and Cathy Ebmeier, Lawrence.

They have seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The future groom is a 1996 LHS graduate. He received degrees in anthropology and communications from KU. He teaches snowboarding at the Big Mountain Ski and Summer Resort and is an independent contractor for an environmental company.

The couple plan a Sept. 17 wedding at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence.
