Journal-World Athletes of the Week: Delaney Earl and Devyn Wadel
The winter sports season officially ended as the boys and girls basketball seasons concluded with state championships, While the KSHSAA seasons for winter sports ended earlier, local wrestlers competed in the USA Wrestling Kansas State Championships, where local wrestlers made the podium. Here are this week’s selections for Journal-World Athletes of the Week:
Delaney Earl, Free State

Earl missed the podium in the KSHSAA 6A state tournament but bounced right back to take sixth in the USA Wrestling Kansas State Championships on Friday.
Devyn Wadel, Baldwin

Wadel and the Baldwin boys basketball team won the 4A state championship over Rock Creek in a game where Wadel scored 17 points with five 3-pointers. Wadel was one of eight seniors who finished their Baldwin basketball careers with a state title this season.
