The Journal-World All-Area teams are carefully selected by the Journal-World sports staff.

Coach of the Year: Chuck Law, Free State

Free State finished 12th in the 6A state golf tournament and qualified six golfers for the state tournament, two of which made it to the second day and placed in the top 20.

Player of the Year: Toby Wagner, Perry-Lecompton

Toby Wagner, Perry-Lecompton High School

Wagner tied for seventh in the 3A state golf tournament after shooting a 154 across the two-day tournament. He led the Kaws to an 11th-place finish in the tournament. Wagner won the Big East League Pre-Season Tournament and finished the year with seven top-5 finishes.

Jace Hoffman, Bishop Seabury

Jace Hoffman

Hoffman tied for 12th in the 1A state tournament by shooting a 161 across two days. Hoffman was the runner-up in the 1A substate at Cedar Hills and the Osawatomie Invitational and won the Kaw Valley Conference tournament.

AJ Kimzey, Free State

AJ Kimzey

Kimzey won both the Seaman Invitational and the Justin Silver Memorial Invitational this year. In the 6A state tournament, Kimzey tied for 20th with a 152 score across the tournament.

Andrew Kirkwood, Lawrence

Andrew Kirkwood

Kirkwood had four top-20 finishes this season with Lawrence, including placing 10th in the 6A substate at Heritage Park. He tied for 68th in the 6A state tournament.

Jackson Lind, Lawrence

Jackson Lind

Lind just missed the cut for the second day of the 6A state tournament and shot a 79. Throughout the season, the sophomore had three top-20 finishes.

Corbin May-Bryant, Lawrence

Corbin May-Bryant

May-Bryant shot a 79 at the 6A state tournament, which was just shy of qualifying for the second day. He had three top-20 finishes, including winning the Hall of Fame Classic with a 74.

Lachlan McRae, Tonganoxie

Lachlan McRae

McRae shot a 153 at the 4A state tournament, which was 16th individually. Throughout the season, McRae had four top-10 finishes.

Cash Nelson, Free State

Cash Nelson

Nelson played some of his best golf at the end of the season, finishing sixth in the third round of the Sunflower League tournament and 12th in the 6A substate at Buffalo Dunes. In the 6A state tournament, Nelson shot an 85 for the first round.

Henry Thompson, Free State

Henry Thompson

Thompson tied for 15th in the 6A state golf tournament this year after shooting a 150. He also finished fourth in the substate tournament, fifth in the third round of the Sunflower League tournament and second in the Topeka Country Club Invitational.

Ethan Tolbert, Perry-Lecompton

Ethan Tolbert

Tolbert qualified for the state tournament for the second time and missed the cut to continue onto the second day by one stroke. This season, he had six top-20 finishes and a top-10 finish.
