Autopsy conducted in case of body found floating in Kansas River

Jefferson County authorities are working with the Topeka Police Department to determine if the body found Sunday in the Kansas River is that of a man who jumped from a bridge in Topeka on April 10.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department is waiting to release the man’s identify until family members are notified.

An autopsy was conducted Monday afternoon.

The body was discovered by a boater around 1:15 p.m. about 3 miles west of the Lecompton boat ramp in Jefferson County.
