A 31-year-old Lawrence man was injured after crashing his motorcycle on K-10 on Tuesday, causing traffic disruptions between Iowa Street and 27th Street for about an hour and a half, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s office spokesman George Diepenbrock said the crash occurred just before 1 p.m. Tuesday. He said westbound traffic was slowing and the motorcyclist braked, but lost control and slid into another vehicle, causing minor damage.

Medics took the motorcyclist by ambulance to a Topeka-area hospital, Diepenbrock said.

Diepenbrock said law enforcement shut down the highway in both directions until medics cleared the area, and that deputies re-opened the westbound side at 2:20 p.m. after the vehicles were towed.
