Weather-related closings and cancellations for Thursday, March 10: KU campuses, Lawrence Public Schools will be closed
The University of Kansas’ Lawrence, Edwards and Leavenworth campuses will be closed Thursday because of an anticipated winter storm. All classes, whether in-person or online, will be canceled for the day, and only employees identified as weather-essential are to report to campus, according to a news release from KU.
Other closings or delays include:
• USD 497 Lawrence Public Schools will be closed. Elementary school teachers who had parent conferences scheduled for Thursday have been given the option of working with parents to hold those conferences online or to reschedule for a different day.
• Bishop Seabury Academy will be closed.
• USD 348 Baldwin will be closed.
• USD 343 Perry-Lecompton will be closed.
• USD 341 Oskaloosa will be closed.
• Raintree Montessori will be closed.
• The Senior Resource Center for Douglas County, including the Senior Wheels program, will be closed.
• Lawrence-Douglas County Housing Authority offices are closed.
• Lawrence Public Library is closed.
• Lawrence Arts Center preschool, kindergarten and youth classes scheduled before 5 p.m. are cancelled. Adult classes, rehearsals and events will be held as planned.
• City of Lawrence offices are closed, including Parks and Recreation programs and facilities.
