A visitor arrives at the Douglas County Courthouse Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, during advance voting.

Tuesday is the final day to register for the Nov. 5 election, which will decide who will serve on the Lawrence City Commission and the Lawrence school board, among other issues.

Six candidates are running to fill three seats on the City Commission, and five candidates are running to fill four seats on the school board.

Residents may register to vote in person at the Douglas County Courthouse, 1100 Massachusetts St., or online at the Kansas secretary of state’s website. Those who have changed addresses since they last voted are required to re-register, according to the Douglas County Clerk’s Office. More information on registering to vote can be found on the clerk’s office website.

Advance voting will start Wednesday. Information about the City Commission and school board candidates may be found at ljworld.com/2019-election.
