Lawrence police identified 19-year-old Justina “Tina” Altamirano Mosso Tuesday as the woman whose body was found amid a violent scene in her Cedarwood Apartments residence at 1727 W. 24th St. on Nov. 9.

Mosso’s death has been officially determined to be a homicide, Lawrence Police Department spokesman Sgt. Trent McKinley said Tuesday.

After making the positive identification, police are attempting to contact Mosso’s relatives and individuals “who may have had recent contact with” her, McKinley said.

“We have been working with family members that we have been able to identify, McKinley said, “but some of that process continues to be ongoing.”

Investigators have yet to identify a suspect or make any arrests in connection with Mosso’s homicide, McKinley said.

McKinley said the department hopes that releasing the woman’s identity will “spur some new leads in the case.”
