Tuesday's top stories and pictures of our bake sale goodies

Gooooooood morning LJWorld.com! Before I get to the top stories, I have to share pictures of food.

We're having a bake sale today to raise money for our World Company Relay for Life team. I baked fudge brownies with Reeses cups (what else?) in the middle. My inspiration came from Rudy's brownies. I may have tried a few after I made them... just to make sure they tasted all right.

This is the second bake sale we've had in the news center for the Relay for Life team. The first raised over $80.

Miss Whitney---how do you get your brownies done in the center without burning them? Try as I might I can never get the centers baked. They are always mostly raw, which isn't a bad thing really, as long as I have spoon.

I use the Perfect Brownie pan. I got it as a gag gift for Christmas, and it turned out to be a pretty sweet present: https://www.perfectbrowniesale.com/

I've made cornbread and cake in it, too. The trick is letting the pan cool completely before you remove the metal grid. Otherwise you get imperfect brownie mush.

If you have the cash, I have the brownies (as long as it isn't raining).

That all looks really good. I tried making that puppy chow years ago after a lady at work brought in a huge batch of it and she told me how to make it. It turned out OK but it was a huge hassle. I want some brownies now.

Last week at work, we had a bake sale to raise money for charity. The company matched what we brought in to dontate to the Joplin relief. I made a couple of cakes to raffle off.
