THURSDAY, FEB. 6

Heartland Community Health Center's open house has been rescheduled from today to 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Feb. 18.

The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence is closed.

Just Food Douglas County Food Bank will be closed.

Building Blocks Daycare Center will be closed.

The Pregnancy Care Center of Lawrence will be closed.

Lawrence Arts Center Thursday daytime classes are canceled through 5 p.m. Studios and galleries will be open throughout the day. All evening activities, rehearsals, classes and film screening will be held as scheduled.

Lawrence Montessori School will be closed.

Raintree Montessori will be closed.

Prairie Moon Waldorf School will be closed.

Ballard Community Services, all locations, will be closed.

Veritas Christian School will be closed.

Lawrence public schools will be closed.

Perry-Lecompton public schools will be closed.

Eudora public schools will be closed, including the Eudora-De Soto Technical Education Center.

Oskaloosa public schools will be closed.

Baldwin City public schools will be closed.

McLouth public schools will be closed.

De Soto public schools will be closed.

The monthly Douglas County Heritage Conservation Council meeting is postponed to Feb. 13.

Pat Green concert at the Granada has been canceled. Refunds available at point of purchase.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 5

Lawrence Arts Center is closed and will reopen at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Tonight’s Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department’s “Project Strength” cooking class at United Way of Douglas County is canceled.

Tonight’s Douglas County breastfeeding support group meeting at the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department is canceled.

All Douglas County Bank locations are closed.

Kansas Department for Children and Families offices and service centers are closed.

Douglas County Housing Authority offices will open at 10 a.m.

Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center will be closed.

Douglas County offices — will open at 1 p.m. This includes all county agencies located in the courthouse, the Judicial and Law Enforcement Center and the KSU Extension Office at the Fairgrounds. The Douglas County District Court and the District Attorney's office will be closed all day. The county commission will meet at 3 p.m. as scheduled.

Lawrence City Hall will open at noon. A City Commission meeting will be held, for consent items only, at 5 p.m. Solid Waste is planning on running trash routes as scheduled.

City bus services — There will be a delay in the start of bus service. Both fixed route and T Lift service will begin at 9 a.m.

City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation facilities will open on at noon. Classes and programs for the day have been canceled. The Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive, will open at noon for lap swimming. The leisure pool will open at 2:30 p.m. for public swimming. All recreation centers will open at noon for public open play and weight and cardio room use. All Parks and Recreation classes and programs today have been canceled. This includes all: nature center programming, recreation instruction classes, special populations programming, aquatic classes and youth and adult sports leagues.

The Social Media Club of Lawrence meeting is canceled and rescheduled to Feb. 19.

Kansas University classes are closed and only weather-essential staff should report to work. Lawrence and Edwards campuses are closed. Bus routes 27, 29, 30, 36, 38, 41, 42, 43, as well as SafeRide and SafeBus, will not operate Wednesday. Second and third shift facility workers should report to work Wednesday.

State offices in Shawnee County will be closed.

The Kansas Legislature will be closed.

Baker University's Baldwin City campus will be closed.

All Wednesday evening activities of the Unitarian Fellowship of Lawrence are canceled.

Peoples Bank in Lawrence will not open until 10 a.m.

TUESDAY, FEB. 4

Second and third shift custodial staff at Kansas University should not report to work on Tuesday.

Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church has canceled evening activities.

Washburn University will close at 4 p.m.

Meritrust locations will close at 1 p.m.

Lawrence Arts Center will close at 5 p.m. All classes and rehearsals are canceled.

Sunflower Bank will close at 1 p.m. and will open at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Emprise Bank branches in Lawrence closed at 12:30 p.m. and will reopen at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The Lawrence City Commission meeting is cancelled. City Commissioners will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. to hear items on the consent agenda only. Regular items postponed until Feb. 11 meeting.

Douglas County Bank will closing all branches at 12:30 p.m. today. All branches will have a delayed opening Wednesday at 10am.

The Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department will close at 2 p.m..

Crestline KinderCare in Lawrence will close Tuesday at noon.

Lawrence Transit will halt fixed route service at 2:00 PM today, Feb. 4. Regular service may be delayed in starting on Wednesday. T Lift service will be running on a limited basis.

Lawrence Memorial Hospital's stress master class is canceled and rescheduled for Feb. 10 at 6 p.m.

Dole Institute screening of Slavery by a Different Name is canceled today.

Lawrence Municipal Court dockets for today have been canceled.

The Bicycle Advisory Committee meeting for tonight has been canceled.

Lawrence Parks and Recreation has decided to not open facilities, including the aquatic centers. Programs and classes for today will be canceled.

Kansas University's Lawrence and Edwards campuses are closed Tuesday, starting at 7:30 a.m.

Haskell Indian Nations University classes are canceled. Essential staff in facilities, housing and food service are to report for duty.

Douglas County Senior Services is closed. All programs, including meal delivery and tax preparation, are canceled for the day.

Lawrence public schools and the Lawrence Adult Education Center will be closed and all activities are canceled.

Tonganoxie public schools are closed.

McLouth public schools are closed.

Leavenworth public schools are closed.

Basehor-Linwood public schools are closed.

Perry public schools are closed.

All non-essential functions of Douglas County government are closed.

Lawrence city offices are closed. All personnel not involved in the current snow operations, emergency services, daily infrastructure or utility operations are not required to report to work. A decision will be made later today about whether to hold tonight's City Commission meeting.

All Lawrence Parks and Recreation programs scheduled prior to 1 p.m. on Tuesday have been canceled. A determination on holding afternoon and evening classes and programs will be made as the day progresses. All recreation centers and pools will open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

Lawrence Arts Center - daytime classes are canceled through 5 p.m. Lawrence Arts Center studios and galleries will be open throughout the day. Evening class cancellations will be announced by 1 p.m.

Children's Learning Center is closed.

Hilltop Child Development Center is closed.

Googles of Learning Childhood Development Center is closed.

Douglas County Senior Services — all services canceled.

Cottonwood Inc. is closed.

Prairie Moon Waldorf School is closed.

Ballard Community Center — all locations closed.

Just Food will be closed.

The Douglas County CASA office will be closed.

Raintree Montessori School closed.

Lawrence Montessori School closed.

De Soto School District has canceled all classes.

Catholic Charities, 1229 Vermont St, will be closed.

Trinity Lutheran Church, 1245 New Hampshire, will be closed.

Santa Fe Trail Middle School will be closed.

State offices in Shawnee County will be closed, affecting non-essential Executive Branch employees.

City of Lawrence solid waste crews will start picking up trash earlier on Tuesday morning and residents with Tuesday collection should set their trash cans out on Monday evening. If a trash pickup is missed during the early collection on Tuesday, call the Solid Waste Division at 832-3032.

The Heartland Community Health Center, 1 Riverfront Plaza #100, will be closed.

Dog Days is canceled.

The city of Lawrence closed the 4th floor of the 9th and New Hampshire parking garage and the Vermont Street parking garages at 5 p.m. Monday.

Lawrence Humane Society is closed.

Douglas County Dental Clinic is closed.

The Floor Trader, 3000 Iowa St., is closed.

Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association office closing at noon.

Lawrence Family Vision Clinic, 3111 W. Sixth St., closing at 11:30 a.m.

Health Care Access has closed.

Independence Inc. is closed.

The Floor Trader, 3000 Iowa St., Lawrence will be closed Tuesday Feb, 4. Happy Snow Day! Look on the bright side and eat Snow ice cream? Make Snow Angels? Sing "Snow" from "White Christmas"? Thank a snow-removal worker!

The Douglas County Dental Clinic will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 5th because of the weather. We should be open on Thursday and will begin rescheduling appointments at that time. Thank you!

The thing that really irritates me is the Lawrence School District waits so late to announce their closings when it is readily apparent that they must do this. It affects some of us not to know until very late about this.
