Fire crews extinguished two car fires in Lawrence on Thursday afternoon, according to Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical shift supervisors. One car burned in the 1300 block of Lawrence Avenue about 12:10 p.m., and another caught fire in the 600 block of Florida St. In each case, the vehicle accidentally caught fire while struggling in today's snowstorm.
