A 26-year-old Lawrence man was killed Saturday in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate Highway 435 in Johnson County.

Christopher Drew Conard, a Kansas University graduate from Dodge City, died after the 2006 Toyota Camry he was driving struck a bridge pillar while traveling west on a ramp to Kansas Highway 10 about 10:45 a.m., according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. He was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later.

Conard was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, according to the patrol.
