Tonganoxie — The Tonganoxie High girls soccer program earned its first trip to state with a dramatic 1-0 defeat of De Soto on Tuesday night at THS.
Chieftains sophomore Emily Soetaert scored the only goal of the Class 4-1A state quarterfinal game in the final minute of regulation.
The victory was the eighth in a row for THS (10-8-1), which will play Friday in a state semifinal at Rose Hill against Topeka Hayden.
