Tonganoxie man injured in a one-vehicle accident near Basehor

A 78-year-old Tonganoxie man was injured Wednesday in a one-vehicle accident about three miles north of Basehor, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The accident report said Darrell Gene Stubenrauch was driving his 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck west on Fairmount Road just west of 163rd Street when for an unknown reason the vehicle left the road to the right. He then veered back onto the road and later struck a fence.

Authorities said the crash occurred at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. Stubenrauch, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan. A hospital spokesman said Thursday information about Stubenrauch’s condition was not available due to the hospital patient privacy policy.
