The third annual Perry Fall Festival kicks off at 8 a.m. Saturday in downtown Perry, about 14 miles northwest of Lawrence. The day begins with a 5K run, honoring 5-year-old Jayden Souter, a Perry resident who lost her battle with cancer last year.
There will be food vendors, a watermelon-eating contest, a tractor pull and a bike parade. Live music begins at 9 p.m. from The Magentlemen and Eliminator, a ZZ top cover band.
For more information on the daylong festival, find Perry Pride on Facebook.
